Are we finished trading insults for today,I have been on dialysis today and am very tired,so forgive me if I go to bed.We can start again tomorrow.
This isn't the X factor, you don't need to try for a sob story in order to get through to the next round. Dialysis or not you are a horrible person, the sympathy vote you are clearly trying for will not alter that. Dialysis is horrible but it does not excuse not play down your disgraceful behaviour.
Cracking attempt for sympathy there. Not washing. I still think you are an abomination. I do not wish ill health on anyone though so all the best with that. I sincerely hope you get a kidney. If that is viable.
I'd rather the kidneys go to people that are not abhorrent humans, personally. I don't wish anyone harm, but there's not an unlimited supply. Give them to people that don't spread hatred. I don't apologise for that at all. Not a nice thing to say, but it's how I feel.
Please DON'T ban selbyred. We need people with views like this kept in plain sight where they can be engaged rather than forcing them into dark corners where they can radicalise others unchallenged. The so called representatives of the majority view at Dover yesterday numbered a few hundred football hooligans, Qanon idiots and plain old out and out racists. They've been emboldened by populism around europe and in the US and by Brexit but they need to be constantly shown for what they are rather than ignored and allowed to spread their cancer.
don't agree with a single thing SelbyRed says and think his way out views are rightly challenged. For whatever reason he has shared the fact that he has dialysis with us. Some of the responses to his post about this are uncharitable. I wish him well and hope the dialysis is working for him. Nothing wrong with shooting the message but shooting the messenger is unnecessary.
I wish him well with his health but I think he's an unrepentently racist t0sser. Him posting that he's on dialysis in a transparent attempt to engender sympathy or guilt doesn't change my view or deter me from expressing it.
Reminds me of a play ground fight now - one of those I get fed up of hearing at work. Just go and play nicely or stay away from each other on the playground
Is that how it should work though? Should people just stop calling out the racist and let him carry on? Nah for me he should be set upon by everyone and he shouldn't be able to carry on spouting his disgusting views on here.
Unfortunately, you can't change people's views despite how abhorrent they are or you perceive them to be. Seems whole country is at loggerheads about everything- Brexit, immigration - left v right. Makes pretty depressing reading sometimes
You can't change their views but you can remove their platform to express them And yeah it really does
In some instances we're talking about the difference between right and wrong. There are some views that are indefensible. You can't just shrug your shoulders and suggest we ignore it, it's tantamount to condoning whatever is said. This is a football forum but it's always been more than that and I'm afraid there are certain things in life more important than football. That said, I'm not advocating anyone be banned, just challenged.
This thread ceased to be anything but an exchange of insults several pages ago didn't it. Just want to say two things; there’s a distinction between racist and offensive. It’s not racist to object to uncontrolled immigration. It’s racist to object to it based on your bias against different races. The two arent the same thing but get a blanket racist badge. We should ban people who are overtly racist, but only when we understand the meaning of the word.
I agree but Selby red has shown himself to be an out and out racist. It isn't just his posts in this thread it's his posts in other threads too including the ones which admin have had to delete. Anyway I think he's finally been banned
I'm aware I'm beginning to sound like a stuck record here but why do some people continue to refer to uncontrolled immigration when it's been pointed out, by me and others, that there are demonstrable controls on immigration in the UK and the EU? I appreciate that many feel that those controls are insufficient and although I disagree I respect that opinion. What I don't respect is the continued and I can only assume therefore deliberate use of this misleading and incendiary term.
Because if said eu immigrant can demonstrate that they meet the freedom of movement conditions then there’s little we can do to prevent them coming here under eu law. I don’t want to live under eu law, I don’t want to be part of a united states of europe. I have no issue with skilled migrant workers coming here from anywhere in the world, I want an end to unskilled migrant workers and the socio economic impacts they have have had. But its been done over and over and ultimately leads to certain posters getting upset because they don’t like to be proven wrong and out come the usual suspects, racist and nazi insults.
