Changed my mind probably Whiteman and Mowatt with Styles at wing back

    Yer probably right.
But I can’t see this starting lineup lasting more than a few weeks.
When the new players get in and up to speed then positions will be changed.
I’m expecting something to develop that looks like this.

    ...................Walton

    Sollbauer - Andersen - (another)

    ................... (another)

    .......Styles - Ritzmaier - Odour

    .......Frieser - (another) - Chaplin

Never felt so indifferent about the start of a new season as this one. I really don't enjoy watching on TV at all.

I hope we make a couple more signings before the league season starts. Flicker made the mistake of thinking his team that narrowly avoided relegation would be good enough to survive the next. We were relegated. Make no bones the squad we had last season was one which was more inclined to the relegation fight than anything else. I still see a few of the problems right now that we had last especially in taking our chances and defending LB. I believe the team together and individuals is a better one that started off last season. But i still think we are 2-3 players short of a squad that would make me less nervy.

Agree but dont see LB/LWB as a problem? We have Oduor, Williams (if Diaby or Halme goes CB), Styles who can slot in LWB (particularly if we sign another CM) and Ritzy. If anything we're top heavy in that position. RB/RWB is where we're lacking if anything. What if Ludewig gets injured?

yes i agree we need cover in a few positions. However im not comfortable with Williams as the first choice. It was our weak position last season in my opinion. We never seemed to get it right.

I think we need a striker more than anything. I think Brown would be much more effective at RWB (although Ludewig has made it his own, so Brown as cover). But in our formation Williams is on the left of a back three, so first choice should be Oduor, or Styles with a new centre mid slotting in. I agree we were weak last season in that position because Ben Williams never established himself there, Oduor was in and out, and we then had Ritzy filling in too. Consistency needed (Oduor!).

I think in my opinion we will start the season with a stronger first team that we did last season. But the truth is we cant just run with a smaller squad, at the first team that struggled to stay in the division. I think we are better positioned with the current team having stability and having settled in together. 2-3 more i think would give us a good chance. Im hoping we can sign a LB starter, a striker to compete upfront or wide option and cover for RB i think would help. We can then see how we go through rest of window after start.

It seems like they're grooming Miller for the wing-back position as backup. An interesting one.

Flicker actually made about 8 or 9 signings in the summer after the great escape. Didn't do any good mind
