A lot irony about their hatred of Sky TV too. They've done nothing but chant "Sky TV is f**king ****" for years because of their constant changes of kick off time and dates (not that I disagree with them), but now that TV revenue is going to bankroll them. Not sure that we'll hear that chant much now.
Forest ? Twice European cup winners. TBF Leeds were the top side in the country for a short while. But not in the same league as Arsenal. Liverpool. Man Utd Chelsea. Man City. And dare I say piggies. In historical terms. 9 teams having won the title more times than them. And yes Bell end rd is a dump not unlike swillsbro.
They once had 19000-odd at home to us, because the rugby league team were playing at Old Trafford the same night. Their support isn't a patch on tha massiv Soonderloond, for instance. Leeds should be a giant, but they never really have been.
By all means he was being linked with all the big sides in Spain only last year so I think it’s a good signing for them. Plus when he was on loan at Bolton he was 19-20 so can be excused for not lighting up the premier league then. His stats last season were terrible for a highly rated striker but according to their fans he didn’t play badly he just ended up leading the line for a team finishing well below par in 9th. He must be decent to have had the choice between Leeds or Atlético but apparently Bielsa swung it for him, curious to see how many he scores though considering he’s moving from a mid table team in La Liga to a newly promoted team here.
Am a Valencia fan, go to Mestella every time we go to Spain Rodrigo for me is overated so I think Valencia got best deal out of it. Maxi Gomez is their best Striker
Thanks for that, definitely alot of money 30 million I remember when 15million got you the best english striker of a generation now you pay double for a striker who scored 4 goals in la liga last season.
To be fair it's been bankrolling them for years. The thick tw@ts don't realise just how much sky have given them a huge financial advantage over the rest of the league for years.
I remember those days when they were treading water the gates weren't so good for a one city club with a massive catchment area, also when they were in league one they weren't pulling the gates at home that man city were when they went down to that league only the past few seasons when they have smelt success the fans have come back out of the woodwork. The biggest club ever to grace the efl is newcastle united not bothered what anyone says sorry Leeds.
Forgot all about them. There’s kids growing up who think Burnley & Watford are bigger clubs than Leeds because that’s all they’ve known
Oh look and the arrogance returns immediately! And to say the EFL neglected them whilst having them on sky every fortnight!!
The “article “ shows a complete lack of class! Denigrating other clubs, describing them as non-entities! Prat!
Firstly - why should anyone other than those Leeds fans trying to make themselves feel important - want to read such shi.te as what’s in the initial post ? It doesn’t make any sense to me. Other than that - I don’t mind Leeds or the Sheffield clubs. But as I’ve said once or twice on here - I think we have reasons to hate these clubs - principally because of DESERTER fans - that’s to say, football supporters from Barnsley that have no connection with these cities going and spending their money at these clubs. And there are literally 1000s of Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United supporters in the Barnsley District. Spending money at these clubs increases the chances that they will be successful. A successful club increases the wealth of the town or city - which in turn increases the number of jobs. So why should someone - especially someone with kids - want to do that and put their money in another place?
Yes most Leeds fans I meet in Wakefield always say “ah you must hate Leeds then” when I say I’m Barnsley. It’s full on plastic fans invasion now, moth eaten flags have been dug out of lofts and proudly hung from bedroom windows, Strongbow era yellow shirts are once more thronging the streets as all the ardent Leeds fans come blinking into the light after 10 years in the closet.
