Ye....Dunt start singing back for good just yet...sadly there is a modicum of truth to the article in as much as the gates at clubs when they came were well up...so was the cost of security. policing . stewarding and the aftermath of their presence...there was an opportunity for them to be honourable.dignified and decent here but this shows them and their fans in their true light...sad really
Dont know much about him but his goalscoring record isnt great and he has played in the premiership before in 2011 with bolton 1 goal in 17 games. Looks like they have paid over odds probley end up top scorer now I've said that.
We need to stay in it comfortably to have a successful season for me. Cant wait till we can go to Oakwell again!
Reminds me of the way some Sunderland fans view their clubs status in league 1. For me, it's about all the clubs and beating the best in the league we play in no matter who they are .And that bit about defecating in the changing room by a Derby player is disgusting.
Isn't roblufc the c(_)nt who started the rumour we'd been mocking the death of Billy Sharp's child? That supposed incident was a few days after Vaz Te had destroyed Leeds, and knoblufc had thrown his toys out of the pram big-style.
I hope they get relegated, I also hope Liverpool school them and win by 4 or more goals, their fans on fb are totally deluded, think they will be in for a shock, the PL is a total different beast to the one they left 16 years ago, a vast majority of them think they will finish top 4, nothing like being optimistic and confident but i dont see anything other than just above the bottom 3 up to about 14 th at best.
You’re all being very harsh. I always think of Leeds as being a bit like Barcelona, but obviously a lot bigger. If they continue to grow they might even attain the status of Sheffield Madrid.
Leeds fans have this weird need to be disliked by everyone. I work in Leeds, with a lot of Leeds fans and whilst the majority of them are alright, on occasion you get a few who are obsessed with the idea that nobody likes them. I spoke to a guy once, who I'd been introduced to by another Leeds fan. He'd told him that I support Barnsley. He said to me, "oh I suppose you hate Leeds then, more than any other team", I told him I didn't particularly like Sheffield United, but hate is a strong word. Then he said, "but you hate Leeds though, everybody hates Leeds". Again, I pointed out that I had a lot of mates that were Leeds fans, and they were all sound and I had no real problem with them. He then went on to say, "but we're a bigger club than you, and that's why your fans can't stand us". I said the majority of our fans don't like Wednesday. He then said something else, by which point I'd zoned out. I was once having a bit of banter with a Leeds fan on twitter. His mate got offended and started with the general stereotypes that come with being from Barnsley. I ignored him, again responding to his mate who clearly understood I was just having a bit of jest with him. Eventually his mate added me to a list called "Leeds United boil my piss". 95% of them are alright, but the ones that aren't are a particularly weird breed.
To be fair, they're probably looking at how well Sheff Utd did last season and are thinking that there's no reason they cant do similar. A few clubs have done ok in their first season - probably a combination of riding the wave, being a bit of an unknown quantity, and having a reasonably settled squad which can be beefed up a bit where needed by spending the vastly increased tv money. Where it gets trickier is sustaining a top half club without throwing loads more money at it. It's a different balancing act and no surprise that so many clubs have such a brief spell in the sun and then plummet.
Might just be my age but Leeds don’t feel like much of a big club to me. Maybe people 40+ see them as a massive club but for most of my life they’ve been outside the premier league. I saw Newcastle & Villa as far bigger teams when they were in the championship. It probably helps that Newcastle & Villa have got big impressive stadiums whereas Elland Road looks like it’s not had a lick of paint in 20 years. Looks a right dump when you go past it on the M621. I just see Leeds like I did Wolves, Forest, Middlesbrough, Derby etc
