Not similar at all people think toney is still the 19 year old we had on loan who even then scored some important goals for us he is miles better than ubbo or cole ever will be. 10million for a player that hasn't played in the championship is alot but he is better than anything upfront we have bar maybe woodrow

With the side he's in, I reckon he'll get 20 goals this season. Maybe even top scorer.

We can't let his performances for us cloud our judgement of him. He's consistently improved his goal tally season on season. For Peterborough, he's scored better than 1 in 2. Imagine what he'd do in a good side.

This time next year, he'll be linked to a PL club (if Brentford don't go up) for £20m+

Yes they do. I broke it down the last time we did Brentford. The lose between 10-20m a season even with these high-value sales. They owed 130m to their owner but as a result of the sale of Griffin park at the begining of the year has pushed that back to only 100m

why do they need to need to invest into a huge scouting network for the players mentioned. I could have scouted those much cheaper, hardly unknown

They signed a lot of players last season, the majority of which from on the continent. Let's be fair though, even with well known names, a few generally don't work out. Brentford seem to get it right, almost every time.

Majority of Brentford’s signings don’t work out, but this gets glossed over because of the ones that do.

Agreed - but you do have to also take into consideration that of that 100m, 71m was the cost of construction of the new stadium, whereas if we’re comparing to BFC this and particularly the last set of management have pretty much avoided spending anything but the bare minimum on facilities and really if we are honest have run the infrastructure into the ground.

How much can they actually do to the ground though if they don't own it?

Or to look at it another way, why would they invest loads of money into a stadium they don't own. Particularly with everything that's going on in the background as well.
