I know I keep banging on about this, but if there’s anybody from the club, or knows anybody at the EFL. An iFollow season ticket has got to be a good move for the coming season. Got to be worth £250/300 for home and away games. Guaranteed money. Failing that announce that all season ticket holders are guaranteed access to iFollow for all games. After all we can’t travel safely to away games and they don’t want us to anyway.
Once crowds are allowed again they'll probably pull the 3pm Saturday games again entirely. So it doesn't sound like something they can really offer.
I watched all nine games after restart on I" follow & never had a problem , when things are back to normal ( eventually ) I will purchase for away games
Not a single issue with iFollow. Nor did anyone I know. The virtual season ticket idea isn't something that can be offered with the 3pm kick offs. I fully expect 5,000 fans to be back at Oakwell by the end of October, meaning season ticket holders only miss three home games.
I renewed my season ticket in the ist week but I bought it knowing that we will not be allowed into the ground for x number of matches & even when we are allowed back we will probably have more season ticket holders than the amount of fans allowed in , if we are allowed 5000 it will not be enough & some kind of rota system will have to be introduced , but I am only guessing.
Yeah 5,000 won't be enough (if that ends up being the number). But I'm not sure every season ticket holder will want to come back under the proposed guidelines. All ifs and buts until we know for sure, but we'd sold 7,000 before the finance option was announced, so at 5,000 we're probably going to have to lose 20% of season ticket holders for each home game.
Plenty on here missed about 20 mins of the QPR game, including me I’m sure some fans missed most of that game also. After that it was fine.
The football industry needs to keep an open mind about this because it can’t keep going indefinitely on zero or reduced crowd numbers. If streaming games helps on the revenue side then they need to be flexible about it.
To be honest , if we are set at 7000 I think we might be o.k . I was told by someone who"s opinion is to be respected that it has a lot to do with entrances & exits as well as seats available will be a big factor in the allowed capacity for each ground , this person also told me that our North, South & East stands are all positive in meeting this criteria . I might be wrong but as the season nears we might sell quite a number of season tickets with fans optimism increasing after the great escape & therefore pushing us with tickets sold being greater than seats available , which is great for the club long term ,but a logistic nightmare initially whilst restrictions are involved . Its all ifs & buts at the moment , with this scheduled to commence from October ultimately the situation with the virus will determine the outcome .
Wouldn’t be a fan of this. It’s the first step on the ladder of people just watching it at home full time. I understand 30% of fans will be allowed from 1st October, that’s not far off 8000 at Oakwell with that percentage increasing in time. I follow access is fine for behind closed door games but your season ticket goes to the club not I follow. So with this you are effectively asking the club to subsidies it or fully pay for you. They did this last season but it’s not sustainable. I follow aren’t going to reinvest your money in players for a start. let the fans in! we must get back to doing normal things as soon as possible.
Sorry but I disagree completely. We should utilise streaming as a source of revenue for the clubs until l this pandemic is put behind us. To reiterate what I posted above the clubs cannot go on indefinitely on zero or vastly reduced crowds. The way I see it for home games, season ticket holders who cannot be accommodated in the ground should be offered the opportunity to stream the game foc. Non season ticket holders to register with the club and be able to stream the game at a cost. For away games both season ticket holders and registered club supporters should be able to stream these games at a cost.
you disagree with fans being let back in? You disagree with people going to a game and not buying a season ticket for I follow? You disagree with the club maximizing revenue to buy players and not give that revenue to a tv company? strange times indeed.
So I’m not asking the club to subsidise me, or pay for me? In fact I’m asking to give money to the club in return for seeing games I can’t attend.
