Another one who believed that the grass was greener elsewhere. Must be on a good
salary and is probably set for life, but I wonder if he feels frustrated that his game time
has been in short supply since he left us, as it's not really worked out for him.

He was a fantastic player for us and the move probably set him up for a comfortable retirement. No need to be churlish.

When he played for us - If I were manager he would be the first name on the team sheet.
The best fooking snarling biting kicking animal fouling ******* striker I’ve ever seen in a Barnsley shirt.
    Loved him.
But seems to have lost his nastiness since he left Tarn.

I'm probably in a minority but I think Watkins was far overrated. Wasn't displeased to see him go (relative to replacements we had). Not clever enough, not quick enough in thought and deed. Not skilful enough. My view of course

I liked Watkins, he gave us something different, made space for the technical players and as i recall at that time one of the higher assists in the team. He always contributed in some way. I'm not a believer in players and managers going back to old clubs so good luck to him in his new journey.

He may well feel that way, but a pro footballer lives to play football, not sitting on a bench
    getting splinters in his butt.

payers have to take the payday when the stock is high. Look at Davies going to Stoke. He moved on the back of a excellent season. The other thing is Watkins would have backed himself to be a success when he moved. With only a few exceptions most footballers will find a level they aren't good enough for.

You missed out on Alan Little, now he was fooking hard when football was played by misters.

I'd take him on loan if we'd had chance. Different type of winger - midfielder etc who always gave 100 %. Never let us down and could play a few positions. Excellent work rate aswell which fits GS style. Knows the club and probably BC are probably paying his wages most part. Knows the area well and the club. It'd have been a no brainer for me.

He was an o.k player for me , if he was selected to play I never moaned ,but also if he was left out I never moaned , he was just one of the players I could take or leave & to be fair after leaving us, he was never really a regular at Norwich or Bristol City . I think since he departed he has been overrated by our fans but thats just my opinion .

The best thing about Watkins was his willingnes not to bellyache when he wasn't allowed to leave. Good lad.

Apart from that he was often worth his place in the starting line up, but to suggest he was fantastic is err... fantasy.
