The fixture list has been kind to us with what you've mentioned and the on paper easy start to the season. Also that we don't play any of our six Yorkshire derbies in the first three months of the season, so every chance we will hopefully be allowed away fans by the time we play Wednesday and Rotherham in December.
If fans are allowed back from October we would have to wait until the 17th to play Bristol City. Later in the month we have two more home games, one of them a night match. Our first home game in November is Forest on the 21st. Hopefully the first three home games fans are expected back for goes well and by the second half of November for match 4 restrictions are much looser.
From November 21st to December 19th, is that 9 games in 29 days? Yet there’s still the customary 2 weeks completely free for international breaks multiple times across the season. I feel like they could’ve used a Tuesday or 2 in there rather than cram fixtures into December but I’m sure they’ve worked it all out to the best of their abilities. Of course, it’s hard to judge at the minute but January and February look like they could be tough months. After that though I don’t think we have it too bad. Hopefully we’ll keep some momentum going from last season and be at least a mid table side.
a good start is essential, both for points and confidence. Do we have any friendlies this next few weeks other than Newcastle?
