What ever the present situation...I'm in the dont let conway and co get their hands on the ground camp...if its bsly council who have the option to purchase the other 50% of the ground then I say go for it.....it can only in the long term be a safe guard against asset stripping or even loans been taken out against it...if the council buy the crynes share...it can only be a plus to safe guarding our future I personally Dont trust Conway and co...one bit....for what it matters
I'm currently reading that! In fact as soon as I've read through here and decided i haven't a clue what's going on at Oakwell I'll be firing up the kindle for the next chapter. Chade? Or Verity?
Verity? It's a long time since I read those. Robin Hobb is great though. The Soldier's Son stuff is good too.
I don’t want to spoil who said it yet for @churtonred. I feel like I’m missing something with Soldier’s Son, lots of people say they liked it but I found them so boring despite liking all her others so much. I often reread the whole set and just skip them. Maybe I need to give them another go and see what I’m missing.
All well and good if it were a single entity. Chien and co own the footballing side of the business. If they can't buy the ground there is nothing to stop them building a new one.
Don't sell the stadium to them and maybe they decide to sell up? Maybe nobody will want us? Or they could build a brand new modern stadium somewhere with a hotel/bar complex on site. The ground would be out of the centre so if you want to drink within walking distance of the ground your only choice is our new supporters bar. Oakwell is left to rot with no team playing there.
This with bells on. I'm on the side of Chien and Co because they will be more beneficial to the long term future of the club and I feel it should be a single entity in order to flourish. I also agree with another poster that said it shouldn't have been separated in the first place. I also think that the separation wasn't all done with the clubs best interest at heart but that's conjecture on my part.
And good luck on getting any planning permission off the council. They could tie it up in red tape for years
