Is the idea, behind this, for restaurants to get mad busy, a few days a week, so feel the need to bring staff off furlough?
We went out to the Station in Crigglestone last night and it was rammed inside and out with loads eating. We only really decided to go out as we thought it would be quiet and it would help them out but great to see them busy, hopefully it’s a good sign for others. Would recommend there if anyone is after cheap but good quality pub food.
https://www.professionaljeweller.co...any-other-european-countries-says-new-report/ So whilst the places you don't need a mask are booming, it's not making people pop a mask on to do some retail therapy whilst they are in a town or city centre. Must be horrible for non essential shops seeing packed pubs and restaurants on their street but so few going to see them before or after they eat.
No. The idea is to encourage people to start going out again after lockdown. That’s why it’s really encouraging that 39% of people are saying this offer is the reason they’ve come out to a pub or restaurant for the first time since lockdown. Places aren’t any quieter on a weekend because of being busy Monday to Wednesday. They were quieter on the weekend anyway before this. Pubs, Bars and Restaurants were 50% down nationally through July, that’s now about 20%.

He's a great lad, a little grumpy with some customers but rightly so. You have to be careful tho', once he starts talking he doesn't come up for air.
Had 3 meals out in last 2 weeks, all on days outside the eat out scheme. Old Horns at High Bradfield, Kings Head at Swinton and Earl of Stafford at Hooton Robert's. All marvellous, great food, ale and service. I felt safe in all 3 premises.
4 Covid deaths announced today and none in the last 48 hours as they are backdated from Wednesday and Thursday. Another positive step in the right direction which should give people who haven't already more confidence to pop to a pub or restaurant for a bite to eat.
We need to get out and patronise these places, restaurants, shops, pubs, gyms etc, and start using taxis and public transport again, safely of course but let's get the town moving. I love this town and really don't want to live in a ghost town. Once these places shut they're shut forever.
Three times a day... Saw you and your lad this morning walking around town. he's soon shot up. Are you sharing wardrobes yet?
Yes it is, l enjoyed it - plenty of meats coming round in a good amount of time, meaning that we weren't waiting with empty plates. It's quite a length of time sitting down and getting up to the salad bar due to the table at a time but these are the sacrifices in this climate. Good selection of meats and grilled halloumi which is a fave in our family!
