Absolutely loved the program when I was younger and can honestly say it wasn't for the obvious reasons
It used to be on in our house but I was too young to remember it with any detail. Edit: wow, I didn’t realise it ran for as long as it did. I don’t remember us watching it for more than a season maybe.
I watched it every week for probably 5 years but I don't really remember watching the later seasons as much and the reboot when they moved to Hawaii was awful. Random Baywatch fact. The lifeguard Newmie (older guy with a moustache, dove into the water during the opening credits) was a real lifeguard. Oh and despite what I thought at the time the fictional character Mitch Buchanan from Baywatch and actual person Neil Buchanan of art attack fame were not in any way related.
Had an awful habit of cutting to some bloke, with a six pack, right on the vinegar stroke. Made me question my sexuality as a teenager and did irreparable damage to more socks than I care to remember.
Pammy was the guest of honor at a Microsoft vendor party I went to in a very swanky Vegas nightclub (Tryst @Wynn). A club full of half-drunk (mostly) middle-aged guys who also liked to watch bay watch "for the stories" Felt a bit sorry for her.
In my defence I genuinely did. I loved the action and seeing how the person would be rescued and what the weird random twist would be. I'm that sad that when a famous actor or actress mentions that they had a small part in Baywatch I can usually remember the episode. I saw Mila Kunis say she once played a blind girl and I was like 'that was a great episode'
It's funny because we actually watched the pilot episode a few weeks ago to show our kids the crap we used to watch on a Saturday night. Not seen my 16 year old son since
Change of program but I remember watching the six million dollar man as a kid and if my dad asked me to pass him something I used to do it in slow motion while making the dadadadadada sound...he soon realised it was quicker to get it himself
