From the stuff I’m reading on social media feels like this might run on and on and become a bitter club rivalry?? Thoughts, bound to draw them in cup next season now

Not for long they'll drop out of the league altogether. Nobody wants them.

Might be for them but for us they'll be forgotten once the season starts. I seem to remember Peterborough being bitter for some reason after they lost their last game against Palace. Do any of their fans still see us as a rival? I doubt it.

While ever people post stuff like this, then yes, this pathetic, supposed rivalry will persist. We’ve got a few nobheads giving it large to the Wigan fans, they’re just pissed off and need an easy target to blame, which has weirdly become us. Complete non-story. Nothing to see here, move along.

They mean nothing to me so it's not a rivalry. They have whipped themselves up into a frenzy about this they need to vent their anger in the right places.

What if we hadn't beaten Brentford on the last day? They would be venting their anger at Charlton fans. It's just pathetic meaningless vitriol from their side.

Move on, nothing to see here

Tbh the stuff being written is far worse than I’ve seen against any of the Sheffield teams, Leeds, Donny etc in recent years, real nasty diatribe

Don't get it at all. They were in charge of their own destiny and blew it. Why blame us? I know we time wasted for a few minutes but Huddersfield let us. If anything their vitriol should have been aimed at them.

Loads of posh fans still can’t stand us. Pretty funny, really.

They still insist our match finished after theirs which isn't true we'd finished and were down they then let Palace score in injury time which is what relegated them not us tossing it off at Huddersfield. Although to be honest it's funny winding them up about it especially as the biggest culprit in the time wasting was Luke Steel and he's from Peterboro that really sends em over the edge when mentioned.

Not quite right. Palace scored in the 89th minute, which we then used to play for a draw. Our game finished before theirs, but we played for a draw and kept the ball because palace scored. We then had to wait for their game to finish to know for sure.

Barnsley do not have a rugby league team at any serious level, so there is no rivalry with Wigan.

I watched it on sky sports so the timings may have been muddled but I can clearly remember our game finishing and thinking we where down and then sky cutting to the Peterboro game and palace scoring and then an agonising wait while their match finished a bit like waiting for the EFL statement yesterday.

When our game finished we were safe, as long as Peterborough didn’t score. 100%

That’s the entire reason we played for the draw, because we were safe, barring a goal from Peterborough.

Steele had the ball for precisely 92 seconds, if memory serves, not the eight minutes or more that Posh fans seem to have convinced themselves about.

They’re going out of business so it’s going to be short lived rivalry.
