That were supposed to reopen in 12 hours time after over 4 months of enforced closure and having put loads of measures in place - bowling alleys, skating rinks, casinos etc - have been put back by two weeks. All GP consultations from now on going forward will by default be done remotely. Flatten the curve for three weeks, you said.
Don't forget masks to be mandatory in even more places....All the more reason to not spend cash at struggling businesses when expected to wear masks during our warmest period of the year.
And Hancock showing his hand last night that he wants all future GP appointments to be remote by default, let’s chuck that one in there as well. Have we seen enough yet to be worried about their totalitarian power?
Nothing folk can do. They won a huge majority only seven months ago, with vast amounts of folk on this very forum condoning it. And we've now got an opposition party who don't oppose owt.
Given the announcement at lunchtime, I can't see us getting back into Oakwell this year or even this season. It looks like a season of I-follow to me.
I welcome the idea of online GP appointments. I’m sick of taking time off to sit around for ages in a room of contagious strangers, only to get 5 minutes with an overworked doctor.
I fear more for a lot businesses when the weather turns if we still have restrictions in place. Government policy form here seems to be they will continue to bring in restrictions which cripple businesses but tough luck. As I've said before a lot of people currently on furlough are unemployed, they just haven't been told yet.
Where the amount of deaths are getting lower, less people on ventilators, less people in hospital with Covid and less people being admitted to hospital. Nothing happens if you don't wear a mask....... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...3-passengers-without-face-masks.html#comments I feel for the shops losing their business through no fault of their own. Today it's 30 degrees and the thought of wearing a mask to shop somewhere will be unappealing to folks.
I don’t get it with Starmer at all. For an intelligent, principled bloke he’s not half doing a good impression of a stuffed dummy.
In my opinion, this is what was expected when restrictions were eased - local outbreaks. For our collective sanity, we need to try to learn to live with covid and bear in mind we can only minimise risk, rather than eliminate it, as with everything in life.
You've only got to look at social media today to see why. Blaming them nasty Muslims for it all. Send them back.
As a counter to our resident daily mail mouthpiece, the first money I’ve spent offline has been since facemasks, sanitiser and distancing was introduced. Been and spent a lot this week on things I’ve needed, and not gone into any shops that weren’t making sure distancing and masks were being used. Lots of friends and family doing the same. I’d say making the (normal) person feel safe shopping in physical retail will help a lot. I will be back to online shopping if masks are made optional again.
It’s worked a treat hasn’t it? Bring in a load of restrictions, in areas with a high concentration of Asian inhabitants, the night before Eid, watch people join the dots and let the blame game start. You’re not telling me they don’t know what they’re doing.
Yeah ridiculous. He should have known people would ignore the warnings and flock to the beaches. He should have known that few people would have complied with the mask wearing request until he had to make it a requirement. He’s the prime minister after all and has the gift of foresight. FFS
https://www.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=47574f7a6e454dc6a42c5f6912ed7076 4 million people with restrictions, but looking on the map you can see the hotspot areas and that a large majority of the places being punished have no Covid cases or very few.
Who could possibly have foreseen that a lot of people would go to the beach in sunny weather, the week after you told them it was OK to go to the beach, you paid for them to be off work and you closed every other available facility. You’re right, no one could possibly have had that type of foresight.
