    Last minute due to the current climate, the Saudis have said it's dragged on so long it's now no longer financially viable.

    Bet the Geordies are livid they haven't got rid of Ashley. The 300 million takeover and a 200 million transfer kitty.

    There'll be some cats and dogs getting some boot tonight up North.
    Bet Ashley's wife is also a bit upset and might have to cancel her hair appointment.

    Been following it on Talksport for months, never seemed right from the start.

    Anyone know why after 4 months the Prem league didnt either ratify or reject the proposed takeover?

    I reckon they'll go down next season.

    Their actual goal difference was way better than their XG difference, and you'd expect some regression to the mean before long. Managed by a dinosaur and on one of the tightest budgets in the division - they'll be rocking up at Oakwell the season after next.

    Let's be reight though, Mike Ashley has zero interest in selling them. He dangles that particular carrot every 6 months or so to get the fans hopes up. He hates them as much as they hate him.

    Despite his advancing years, Malcolm's reading of the game meant even the fastest of opposition players rarely got the better of him. His physique also meant he usually out muscled the bigger target men. I'd have loved to have seen him play for Barnsley when he was in his prime.
