After Danny Wilson's steering us to the Prem, I'm hard pushed to think of anything more managerially momentous.

    Perhaps I'm pissed.

    Flitcroft's great escape is equal.

Better than Flitcroft, weren't we more points adrift this time?

Not sure exactly, but we were bottom at the end of November and needed 7 more points to stop up that year.

    Sorry...6 more points...ended on 55 that year.

When we got the great escape I was ecstatic words failed me .
On this occasion I was in bits I cried , don’t know if it’s an age thing but I was a wreck for a short period of time now I’m so in disbelief it’s unreal .

I agree this season is more impressive.

This is the first time we've been out of the relegation zone since August! On the final day of the season. Almost 12 months in the relegation zone.

The consequences of relegation this season may be unthinkable. I doubt Lg 1 will exist next season.

Where that put it as an all time achievement? For me, 2nd behind promotion in 97. A big shame the fans could not be a real part of it.

We didn’t have much but we did have a few proven championship quality players in that Flitcroft side so I’d give the edge to this one who basically had Mowatt & a bunch of lads who’ve never really played at this level.

Still an incredible achievement by Flitcroft given Wiseman, Kennedy, McNulty, Dawson & Dagnall started almost every game
