Theres a possibility we could be down before this game so play players we realistically could see in League 1 next season. Thats means dont play Mowatt Woodrow Ludewig My team would be Walton Williams Sollbauer Andersen Odour Halme Thomas Styles Ritzmaer Chaplin Brown
we cant be relegated before the Forest game - although it looks like we are down if Charlton and Huddersfield win dont forget Wigan have still a 12 point penalty - if Charlton win Wigan would be effectively on 45 points. Hull and Luton play each other so best case they draw and are on 46 worst case Luton win taking them to 5 points clear of us. Sunday really will be a must win game though - if we dont win on Sunday we are almost certainly going to be mathematically down. Perfect results might mean a draw doesnt actually relegate us but I am fairly sure that going into Sunday only a win will keep us alive we need to play our strongest side - whether you drop Woodrow on form is a different question but we have to play Ludewig and Mowatt
It's probably ambitious keeping Chaplin, Brown and Sollbauer, so: Walton Williams Halme Andersen Odour Wolfe Thomas Styles Bahre Schmidt Marsh
Jordan Williams and Jacob Brown both looked poor against Leeds. I'd play Thomas but out wide. Walton Ludewig Solbauer Andersen B. Williams Thomas Mowatt Styles Oduor Woodrow Chaplin
Wouldn't say woeful. He is in the top 6 number of assists in the league, but his game/goal ratio has been poor. As for who will buy him, take your pick from any number of rivals in League One; Peterborough? Pompey? The Marras? 2 million tops should do it to keep the spreadsheet ticking over.
If I could pick the side I would go for the following in a 433: Walton Killian Sollbauer Mads Oduor Halme Styles Mowatt Brown Woodrow Chaplin Think it would suit our players better but we all know it will be same system as last game and basically same team with Ritz in there somewhere as per.
I'd go with that. They'll be so dissapointed that they didn't get anything out of that game it might just be the incentive they need to get us out of this mess!
It was a frustrating game. A lot of effort but little quality. We need two wins and to hope results go our way. It's a tall order but we've more chance playing how we did last night.
Same team that started the second half for me, maybe tweak the positions a bit so that Brown is playing more to the right, rather than constantly losing headers against their centre backs.
My picks would be: Walton Sollbauer Andersen B.Williams Ritzmaier Brown Styles Mowatt Thomas Chaplin Woodrow Left back is always a concern and Ritzmaier is our best cover for that. The Goal of the Season reel demonstrates why we should start with Chaplin and Woodrow. Styles to continue with the aggressive moves forward, Brown and Thomas to find space out wide. Alex first man on the team sheet, leading us out to battle for our final home game of the season.
We need to keep going for two wins and aim for third bottom at worst in case we do finish above Wigan (minus 12) and just in case a miracle happens (there is a comet/new star in the sky) and Wednesday get what they deserve (points deduction/relegated/erased entirely from history).
I hadn't realised that a win against Leeds would have taken us out of the bottom three until I forced myself to look at the table this morning.
............................Walton Ludewig - Solbauer - Andersen - Brown ........................ Halme ............Thomas - Styles - Bähre ................Woodrow - Chaplin Brown has done nothing as a striker or winger. He can’t beat a man and although balls are knocked high for him I don’t remember him winning one header. Mowatt also isn’t good enough at this level - he’s got no speed. Example during Leeds match first half - Bamford was 2 yards behind him and yet still took the ball off him. We are currently playing these two players because Struber hasn’t hasn’t much of an alternative. At best these two are Division 1 players. I know Thomas has been a disappointment - but he can beat a man and drive play going forward - he just needs to man up and be more ruthless in front of goal. Prediction - Styles will be our best player next season.
Your example didn’t happen like that at all. Mowatt slowed down & feinted as if he was going to turn back but then carried on, he tried to fool Bamford but Bamford read it & took the ball off him. Bamford may well be a better sprinter than Mowatt but in that instance it wasn’t his pace that got him the ball back. Absolute madness to put Brown at left back. You claim Mowatt’s too slow & then put Halme & Bahre in the midfield. That doesn’t make any sense
