No point in blaming the players or the coaches.

I see and accept your point , Marlon. But given the amount of clubs they own and are also attempting to buy , and not just in Football, then I think they are just on a profit building exercise for themselves. I do not think they have any feelings or enthusiasm for any of the clubs they have bought into and are currently attempting to buy into, and even less regard for the fans of those clubs. FIFA should look into this and sort it out, but I reckon FIFA are also on a corrupt payroll.... for me it's totally bent and crooked. I am rapidly loosing my religion with the game.

We couldn’t know for sure obviously, but we had a squad full of self- belief, confidence and determination and knew where the back of the net was. Not saying we would’ve been a promotion contender, but I really don’t think that relegation would’ve been an issue.

In terms of goals, yes we had two players who scored a lot last season, but equally we missed a hell of a lot of chances and our conversion rate was not great. Thats why I cant help think we would still have struggled to score enough as we get less chances in this league so your conversion rate has to be higher. Just an opinion.

I think we can agree that a squad with confidence and continuity would be expected to fare better than a brand new squad.

Not sure that’s a valid point in the context of this discussion. One thing we can be absolutely sure about is that Man City’s owners invest in their club. And then some...

Just pointing out that others also own lots of other clubs, if DT meant the fact they dont invest anything then fair enough but to me it seemed he was suggesting it was more about owning lots of clubs.

The fact is though that nobody mentions is the board probably DIDN'T know what was required player wise as they've no football experience (apart from owning foreign club). They aren't football people, they are successful businessmen in their own right. It's not as if they'd sit around the boardroom table discussions including the Christmas Tree Formation, false number 9's and overlapping full backs...... They've not spent 40 years watching 2nd and 3rd tier football.
It's like them ringing me to see if I think they need a new quarter back or a more experienced pitcher. I wouldn't have a clue coz I've no idea about the NFL or baseball.

What should have happened at the outset is to listen to folk with oodles of experience. If they did it's gone wrong. If they didn't it inept.

I've heard it from the horses mouth that on numerous occasions DS asked for the dreaded E word. Was ignored.

Shame really...... Can't wait to see in black and white our transfer cash both in and out..... Be an interesting read.

All 3 are to blame. Its not just one or the other its a combination of all of them.

The board haven't bought the right players and have let good players go for less than market value.
The manager has been picking the wrong players in the wrong positions with some questionable tactical decisions.
The players haven't been performing well enough when on the pitch to win games and making too many individual errors.
