Apart from the new FarageGarage lorry park turning Ashford, Kent into the UK centre for prostitution, HMG have announced they expect *400million* customs declarations per year. Each custom declaration will cost *on average* £32.50 each.

So irrespective of anything else, with or without a deal, the cost to business of customs paperwork introduced due to Brexit is ~£13billion per year. The cost of 50,000 customs agents is *at least* another £2-3bn per year (50000 @ avg wage is about £1.6bn, plus managers, offices, HR, training, etc, etc).

Spending £15+bn each year to save £13bn does not seem like a great benefit to me??

It's almost as if Brexit was a bad idea, but now nobody will admit that they were wrong...

It would be funny if you werent right. Though some of the main drivers of Brexit aren't wrong as they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams - but their interests don't coincide with the best outcome for the UK.

Not everyone that voted for Brexit are racists but you can bet all racists voted for Brexit and there are a heck of a lot of them whether they realise it or not including the WLM and ALM brigade who completely miss the point of BLM.

My Brother in law works as a transport manager for FedEx. They have bought their own RoRo ferries as they think there will be massive hold ups at the French ports with lorries backed up into the ships, waiting to get through customs. The officers diligently checking every lorry.

Large offices. We don't need large offices, but we would need at least *some* office space in Dover, Folkstone, Larne, Stranraer, Holyhead, Pembroke, Felixstowe, Hull, Newcastle, Heathrow, Gatwick, etc, etc, etc.

What do you define as a large office?

    Especially given ‘social distancing’

A large office is a 100+ capacity space. Medium is 50-100 and small is under 50.

Take Holyhead. You might have 200 customs agents (I don't know how many it will need), but with shifts that drops to maybe 50 working at any time. If half of them are inspecting paperwork, etc on lorries, then they would need an office with capacity for ~40 to accommodate visitors, supervisors, meetings, etc.
