    There's a nice bit of verlan in there which might not go down well in GCSE French either:
    teufeurs = ravers/partygoers, from teuf which is verlan for fête (party).

    Neither would "Une grande rave party le week-end avant le 14 juillet"

    2 thoughts stuck me - did Miles Kington write that article as one of his lets parler Franglais essays?
    and what are the Délégation générale à la langue française et aux langues de France doing letting such sloppy writing exist

    Anglicisms are fairly common in French. Le weekend has been in use since the early 1900s, apparently. Une rave party is a new one on me, though.

    The much missed Steve S once wrote a fabulous franglais piece on here and it reminded me of that. Just not nearly as funny. Although very few things are as funny as that Steve S post. It was genius.
