Has he though? PPG is a meaningless stat. Utterly pointless. I've watch him "coach" my side to a string of defensive, toothless displays, that has led us to the foot of the table. The only stat that matters is the league table. Edit: and I'm hostile towards him because he absolutely deserves it.
So now you’ve all had to time to digest my unpopular bomb........why did he sign a experienced keeper but not a defender, why? If the board sanctioned his other signings why wouldn't they sanction an experienced centre half. We’ve all see that a good CB was going to cost us
So let me get this right. You're saying Stendel was delivering a better Barnsley performance than Struber? There's no wrong answer, I just want to know.
No they wouldn't deny that but it can't be ignored that Struber inherited a more experienced squad than Daniel started the season with. Something which has a massive, massive influence in their ability. If you had to compare the squad that Struber had at the end of January or even the one he inherited to the one Daniel started the season with then you have to concede it was in abetter shape to play championship football. Daniel started with an absolutely naive centre back pairing of bambo and mads. Never played together, no experience. By January Struber had a 29 year old partnering a mass Andersen who now had about 25 games at this level under his belt. That's something that is hugely important but is being conveniently ignored by some who are keen to lick our owners arses that they are blinded to reality. I'm not including you there by the way
When Murray took over he said they were changing the way we play throughout all levels of the club, academy included.
Because if they sold every competent centre back we had we were obviously going to need a good keeper!
I'm just throwing something out there. But maybe Daniel Stendel could have suggested a centre back for us to sign rather than insisting on Mailk Wilks? He obviously had influence with the board as he got certain signings over the line, maybe we could have got different ones?
I'm not attacking you at all, Ben. I simply asked you a question. I don't believe the players signed were, but certainly don't blame them for that.
He did. But he also begged to sign Wilks and Radlinger. Is he not at fault for picking his battles incorrectly?
Just don't see the need to use it as an insult, there's plenty of insulting words already that you could have chosen without deciding to insult women for no reason. I don't normally say anything but sometimes I get a bit peed off by it.
In all honesty? Yes. We actually looked to win games. We attacked the opposition. We were incredibly naive, but we had a squad of inexperienced kids who had a barely played a game with each other. Plus we had a load of injuries. Now, we've got a squad who have played together all season - including 3 signings in january that the manager wanted. Plus, players came back from injury. They're negative, slow in the build up, terrified of taking a risk to make something happen. Which, in the position we find ourselves in, is unforgivable. If you don't agree then that's fair enough - but that's how I see it (as do plenty of others). Personally, I cannot see how anyone can defend the current manager.
Stendel signed some of his own players. We haven't deviated from the pressing strategy since the board announced that was the intent. I'm not sure what from your original point still stands? I get we're all frustrated, but still, it feels like we're being very short sighted in cases.
