******** he was sacked for straying from the party line he disagreed publicly with Conway and Conway didn't like it hence the 21 word sentence I won't call it a statement it wasn't worth that title.
He accepted the job, and probably for more money than he was on previous. If he didnt do any research into what he was walking into before taking the post then more fool him. If he did and accepted the job anyway then he has to take his share of the blame. Yes the board has to take a large portion of the blame but has i said in a thread earlier in the week Struber is doing himself no favours with his baffling team selections and tactics. He appears to have approached the last 3 games with a must not lose attitude when in reality we should have gone into them with a must win mentality.
Player improvement throughout the season was always going to get better and better to the end and now we are at the end it just shows how lacking in quality we are.
There is a silver lining in all of this. The locusts cannot sell the ground or land around it. Imagine if they owned that too!! So no matter how crap we are on the pitch, at least we have a pitch!!
Don't players who have never played championship football before or played together generally get better after 20 or so games of playing together in that league?
They also said it was the best transfer window ever so I wouldnt put much weight behind any words they utter
Tey do. Absolutely. But they also get better from playing better systems to suit their talents. I don't think anyone would deny that.
Selling anyone they can get abit of money for and then replacing them with substandard young gambles in the hope they can make some money on them in future. Wonder if we got back what we paid for wilkes?wonder if the money will go back into the playing squad?
'Most successful'. Which is still a stupid comment and a bit pathetic in the grand scheme of things. But we need to get it right.
Some people choose to believe the company narrative as source of truth some choose t o question. In a few months/ years when they (the board) are gone we may have a better understanding.
So hostile. Is that really necessary? He has done better than the previous manager which is generally what the conversation was about
Our board signed players they believed would be capable of playing the pressing style they've insisted we use for the last two years. They insisted we had to have a Head Coach to play that style, which is why they appointed their 'first choice' candidate in Daniel Stendel. Did they get their signings right last Summer?
I genuinely don't know. But you're attacking me like I've set the strategy? I only gave an opinion. We still play a pressing style, in the same way we played a pressing style before Stendel took over. Do you remember Stendel referring to Hecky's pressing style as 'not really pressing'? None of that strategy has changed
