You're not the only optimist mate. I think most fans, not all, would have taken three wins, two draws and a defeat from the first six games of the restart - we've still got a brilliant chance of achieving that with a big performance on Saturday.

Confidence will be high having got a point today, and whilst the Leeds game is really tough on paper, the regular season for Forest and Brentford could be over when we play them. The sentimental value of Griffin Park on the last day could be removed too. With the number of points we started behind safety if we're going in to the last three games still within touching distance then all is not lost. The Wigan game is the first absolutely must win game for me and probably our biggest regular season game since Derby away.

Ritz put three or four balls into the box 1st half that was dying out to be attacked by a striker.

They were attacked by a striker. One led to the Chaplin half volley over. One led to Woodrow's deflected shot. And the other Brown attacked it but completely missed it or glanced a touch on the ball.

All three could have been goals on another night.

We were by far the better side. If it's in the gods that we wI'll survive then we can still do it. If we don't then you can't blame the team tonight for lack of effort. Cauley seems like he couldn't buy a goal and Jacob was never at the races. At least it could be right down to the wire and we ain't dead yet!!

Financial risk to the club is a completely different argument. You are claiming that the club has no power if a player decides to leave when under contract, and does so because they fear that the player will not act professionally if he doesn't get his own way. I'm sorry, but I believe you, and many others to be fair, are simply swallowing a load of old codswallop. I would have far greater respect if the club's owners simply stated the truth (as I see it anyway). Their source of profit is player sales. They are disinterested in which division we are playing. As shown last season and this, do well in the division below with players bought on the cheap, increase the value of said players, flog for a profit, get relegated, then repeat. Problem is there might well not be a League One next season. Then what? Hopefully there is enough retained profit, along with the season ticket revenue that many of us have committed to, to tied us over. Here's hoping.

Agree with that. Damn shame about the Stoke performance but always said it is how we react. I think the reaction today was 100% what was required. We just lscked that cutting edge but not through lack of effort was my summation.

We could also see Forest and Brentford fielding a weakened squad against us to give their regulars a breather before the play offs. With the intense schedule we have had, it is highly likely.

All is not lost quite yet..

Would like to see more of Styles, and let him take a few free kicks from Mowatt. They aren't working for him at the moment.

Very rarely do score 3 goals on another night. We support Barnsley!

All is not lost at all. I do find myself questioning some decisions of the manager tonight far more than that of the players.

    - Ritz had a good first half. Almost a passenger second. Not sure how he stayed on the pitch?
    - Jordan Williams was having so much of the ball wide left but naturally get coming inside, and then less naturally being wasteful with the ball. We were crying out for Oduor to get the ball on the touchline like that when we were chasing the game
    - Styles being brought on when taking off the above? Not one that made sense to me
    - Halme's height helps us. Having him on the bench is a disadvantage
    - How late he left the subs. Yes it got us a point, but you could argue that goal comes 5/10 minutes earlier and we have more time for a winner

Mowatt needs to be getting the ball in that left of the diamond position. Halme can play in front of the diamond. I then think you'll see a better performance from Woodrow, although he was good first half and on another day goes in at half time with two goals.

Agree. I think there’s very few players that would stop trying. Scowen & Watkins kept giving their all when they had contracts coming to an end.

Hes the manager, of course he has to accept some of the blame but so do the players.

But most of the blame is laid at our owners door. Just my opinion.

Relegation..... Its not a tonight knee jerk reaction... As stated previously and in my opinion... I'm a firm believer that we were set up to fail before we kicked a ball In anger last August... In defence I give you our recruitment policy as exhibit A and exhibit B for January...
I further add that the route we have taken whereby we purchase young players improve them before they then get sold on works better if we are in a lower division...think about it.. Less wages less out lays more divisions to sell to ... We have become the modern day Crew Alexander..only on a bigger scale. The more money that is acquired from player sales the bigger dividends that can be paid out to share holders eventually...
The ambition of the fans is miles apart from the ambition of the board...
Once again il make a statement that will ruffle feathers... Some on here need to take of their rose tinted specticles where this board is concerned... They have history with failing to act.... Its a pity that the board and Co don't work as hard as Beth, whitey and others to make our club great again... They the board in my opinion are slowly crippling this club of ours... Yes they may own it but we are the heart it needs to beat... And from what I see experience... we as a united group are totally out of rhythm with each other let alone on here amongst ourselves
Hence my opinion. And statement.. They don't want championship football its too costly for them.... Once again in my opinion no ambition on the field of play...
So I don't think my original post was ludicrous... What they say and actually mean is a different thing Conway's play on words originally won me over or was I eager to want to believe this was a chance that the club that I have loved and supported from being a boy was going to finally learn its lesson on that well trodden path.... we will go down and come back stronger... And come back stronger..you're having a laugh. No... It hasn't never as.. Nor will it whilst the likes of this lot of hedge fund investors are at the helm...
So to put it bluntly whilst ever folk like your good self keep making excuse after excuse for them and their actions they won't be held accountable.... Unfortunately...and will no doubt walk away one day leaving the club on its backside in a worse state than we are in now...
And that cocker is my opinion on these cowboys who are in charge...
But don't forget... The best ever transfer window in the history of Barnsley football club... Good night God bless sweet dreams

Look here - I’d do it - but I’m not prepared to take a pay cut for any foooker.
And of course if they met my pay demands then I’d want a change to the backroom staff - such as:

Big Lil and Jedi 1 - in charge of physical training.
Celebrity Monkey - in charge of psychological wellbeing.
Tina Tyke - as a member of the board of directors.
    Hemsy - recruitment.
Wayne - football tactics and refreshments.
Dragon Tyke - media and selling the club in the community.

    Changes that are long overdue.

Whilst I appreciate the kind words saved for me and Beth, your theory is absolute nonsense.

I doubt confidence will be high from having got a point, mate. You only have to look at the scenes at the final whistle to see how down the players were.

That the owners prioritise money from player sales above all else? I don't think it is nonsense. Everything they've done since coming here points exactly to that

Cant comment on the match really as I spent most of it looking at a black screen, constant freezes, images so pixelated that you could barely make out what was going on or on the iFollow chat talking to someone called Teodora who, after using several nonsensical reasons why I was having problems (all at my end apparently including VPN which I was not using, not using Google (When I try the login page only shows the RH subscibe and username password does not appear so I use Firefox or IE ), said that wont work until I pointed out I had watched most of the 1st half on a browser that "wont work" after having pointed out I could stream Netflix and YouTube 4K no problem. She then actually told me that their streaming was fine " and why was it that "no-one else was on the chat help complaining about the streaming being poor" .

I told her it was a pathetic and unprofessional response,(effectively accusing me of lying) and that I had had countless problems and poor service for the whole (shortened) season and would not be renewing (which I stand by since the service IMO is not fit for purpose). Incidentally I did a speed test using a distant server before and after the conversation and was getting over 20Mb/s which is adequate for 4K.

IFollow seems to match the general standard of EFL i.e. inept and incompetent!
