This last 4 months has seen me drink less than I’ve ever done in my drinking life, I’m all or nothing with booze anyhow, tea total for a month or a good old bender but when I have drunk over last 4 I’ve realised I much prefer bottled ale as opposed to the other 2, I’m into Moretti at the minute, when it first come to pumps I tried to like it and thought it was ***** but these bottles are absolutely lovely!! What’s your preference and brand too? Mine are; Moretti Holsten Pils Becks Bud All 4 I prefer in the bottle too
Can’t say I’ve tried stones, am partial to most alcoholic beverages but bottles are the way forward plus you can drink twice as many and not feel as bad
In a pub it's a pint. No other format needs to exist. Cans all the way outside the pub though. Better for the beer, better for the environment, better for you. They get cold quicker as well.
Lower carbon footprint, (lighter therefore easy to transport, less packaging), more recycled material than glass. One downside is the requirement to have alluminium in the first place but there's also a lot recycled.
Don't mind a Moretti but wouldn't choose any of the other 3 unless there wasn't anything better on offer. I'd sup almost anything if desperate enough I have become partial to a Brewdog Punk IPA. (Staying on brand from Redfearn's - although I'm usually driving on a matchday). That said, I've had about 24 cans in total since a couple of weeks before lockdown started. Never really been one to drink at home and my wife doesn't drink.
Draught for me, bottles 2nd. My favourite is Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild, only ever had it draught. Other beers of note include A few local (to me) ones Baz's bonce blower (Taphouse Brewery near Ashby de la Zouch) it does what it says.... Bass Tuffer's Old (Boot Brewery Repton) Stairway to Heaven (Burton Bridge Brewery) Owd Roger (Marstons) Thomas Sykes (Burton Bridge) Others Old Peculier (Theakston's) McEwan's Champion Black Sheep Bitter London Pride (Fullers) Timothy Taylors Landlord Timothy Taylors Boltmaker Adnams Broadside Got quite a thirst on writing this....
Yeah am not a massive house drinker, unless it’s a party of BBQ but getting drunk in house is piss pointless to me
Proper ales then!! We went to York other year on a beer tasting day round some local breweries.......top day but a was slurring like nowt right when we got dropped off
It's got to be draught for me, the other options are too fizzy. Otherwise bottled, then canned, although I drink more canned as it's easier to open and easier to get rid of the cans.
What if you have your own cooler, bar and also use the same barrel as the local does. Am I more green, or less? (Than glass or cans bought so to speak) Just curious
I love Brew York, I've had a couple of variety crates from them during lockdown. Some really interesting beers
It was 4 local ones to the area, I forget the names, one of them actually brewed for LNER and it’s served on there London bound trains
