Sunderland players have been furloughed. No one knows what will happen with leagues 1 and 2 next season. If that isn't an incentive for all the players in relegation threatened teams to fight tooth and nail for survival then I don't know what is. COYR!

The problem is, though, that fear is not an adequate substitute for quality and experience. We’ve renewed for next season knowing there is a reasonable chance it won’t happen. The epitome of the ‘triumph of hope over expectation’

I've only renewed because I'd lose my discount for the next 4 years if I hadn't have.

If we go down we may not miss games as season ticket holders if non are played without a crowd. It's a real unknown what will happen, if it isn't viable to finish the season you struggle to see how starting a new one makes sense.

what was the outcome of the proposed wage capping for Leagues 1 and 2 ? That would cut losses a bit.

Things are improving all the time so I am pretty confident one way or another all leagues will restart probably on Saturday 5th of September.

Crikey, I have just started watching the Netflix documentary about them. The thing that strikes me most is the venom of the supporters, they never get behind the team if they go behind. It must be hard to play there with that negativity.

Fair enough. Although if next season is lost, then I guess you would have to question what will happen after that. We can only hope for the best.

Hoping Sunderlands Netflix journey continues with more seasons than the Simpsons, failing every year to get out of the league. They were so full of it that they would walk away with the league when they first went down. Almost poetic justice.

If flaw in that proposal though in that all it will do is create a bigger divide between Championship and L1. Making it harder for teams after being promoted and giving teams relegated a huge advantage as there is no way they wouldn’t be given a season or too to come into line (like parachute from Prem).
It needs to be all EFL or none
