I wouldn't have Wilkes anywhere near our first team and I'm not one for criticising our players individually on here usually. All I've seen him do on a regular basis for us is to fall over, give the ball away and create nothing for his team mates. Sadly, I believe he's been the biggest disappointment of all our 2019 Summer signings. There may well be a decent player in there, but I haven't seen it yet in a Barnsley shirt..
Tend to agree Lil . Played great in the opening game against Fulham. (Reports from my Donny colleague at work we’re mixed. Brilliant to overated) then he was quite frankly poor to say the least. I think getting picked afore Thiam. Drove Thiam into wondering wtf am I doing here and his attitude changed. Not saying it’s the right thing to do but happens. Then Schmidt came along and put the mindset of Thiam on overdrive. I’d still have had Wilkes on the bench if it had been possible. Cos his attitude might have changed. Afore Schmidt.
A sensible approach imo. I suspect Hull are trying to simply push back the date the agreement applies until as they first want to know which division they are playing in next season. We on the other hand are trying to force their hand, knowing that they want to retain him in their attempt to stay up. What I don't really understand is why GS would appear to categorically rule him out before it's clear whether he's staying at Hull. He was a waste of time earlier this season but I hope that if he does come back we'll at least look at him and assess his levels of fitness and motivation. It makes no sense to completely dismiss him imo. Having said that in my view it didn't with Pinillos and Thiam either.
Good business from the owners there then! What happened to the court action to recover the money owed from Hull?
Simple for me . Get Angus back If possible . If they haven’t paid the balance. Whatever it is. He was ready to return to playing afore the shutdown. Not taken notice whether he’s played or been on bench since. They’ve broken the contract. This Bull about the club not being open about his conditions afore the transfer is their excuse. Eff em. Contract has not been fulfilled.
I don't understand how Hull have got away with not paying us for Angus - how can that happen? And I extra don't understand how we agreed a deal for Wilks with them after this!
Get that John. But is the reason Hull are holding out on payment. He had symptoms not picked up by the medical I believe and were put down to normal conditions. Iron deficiency reported by Hecky at the time. Was common knowledge. And causes fatigue. Bit of trying to pull a fast un by Hull it appears. Saying Barnsley didn’t declare it. Surely when you fill out a medical condition report yourself as per norm. It would have been declared. By the player. ? Gerrim back. If fit and we get relegated. Definitely league 1 standard minimum.
Bfc--Please can we have the 200k we are owed from angus transfer from 2 years ago. Hull-- no bfc-- please we will let you keep wilks untill the end of season..... Why do we even do business with clubs like them, hope they go down.
Hull have a buy out option till tomorrow . But chose to seek an extension to the loan. (Don’t know when that option was given.) Ball in our court Cos of the Angus situation. I assume, Whether that option Is enforceable? I assume a fee had been agreed.
