21 points would be amazing. However, I'm expecting a fine and 8 points, probably suspended.

A 9 or 10 point deduction would be nice put they right in the relegation mix. Doubt it though be a fine and a dont do it again.

I expect a fine and a suspended points deduction.

How would they pay the fine .... sell the ground again ?
No, anything up to 10 points deduction would have them crapping themselves big time. Down near the bottom with "teams like Barnsley".

Wednesday will walk free... Hasn't the penny dropped yet.. The Premier league want the big teams up there the ones who attract large crowds so they can get rid of the unfashionable small teams then shut up shop no relegations... Docking Wednesday points to endanger their championship place won't happen they've got too many friends in high places let's not forget Hillsborough was the FAs preferred semi final venue for many years even though it was a dump.... You don't get gigs like that year in year out unless you have friends in the right places... Those links to the top I'd say are still there bubbling away under the surface still at a guess...
Fine and a points suspension over the next 2 seasons, that's my opinion...
I will be mighty surprised if they get whacked with anything else... No doubt it will be a case of run along nothing to see here ...

A pat on the back and a small fine, after agreeing to attend an accountancy awareness course.

The problem for me with the football authorities is the length of time they take to resolve case's they bring. They should have a protocol in place that brings a resolution within a deadline. The article implies that they have only acted due to threat of litigation from one of their members. It's a convoluted case which will probably go to appeal anyway. A precedent has to be set legally here by the EFL, or else they should tear up their rule book as not being fit for purpose. A bit like the organisation itself.

If the EFL had half a brain they'd realise that they haven't got the money to pay a fine so a huge points deduction is the only answer (or automatic relegation to really send out a message) is the only logical way to go but they can't do that to the biggest club in the history of the world, can they!

I have noted all the cynical responses brought on due to a disregard for the EFL and their sense of justice, however, Sheffield Wednesday have been caught red handed. They have been caught and then they tried to cover up the fact. They botched it, and they were caught again. I am expecting the first punishment for breaking the FFP regulations to be upheld, and I am expecting that punishment to be doubled because they tried to cover up that fact. Anything else would invite the return of the wild west in the Championship. Every rich chairman in the league would take it as an invitation to act as they wanted, because there was nothing the league could do. There is a matter of principle here, and matters of principle just cannot be ignored.

That does not mean that we are safe, and neither does it mean that Wednesday are relegated.

It would be a tragedy if they were forcibly relegated. An absolute travesty.

    Oh, hang on......:D

However, because of our impudence; they will take our points total, award them to Wednesday, then deduct them 21 points.

If they have been pushed into quicker action by our impudence, then the punishment will be set so it doesn't do us any favours either.

I thought it might be more likely to favour us if they’re a bit scared of our threats.

We’ve threatened to act if they don’t act.

They are. Rushing them in my eyes increases the likelihood they will be as lenient as they can to avoid legal action from Wednesday, and we have no position to moan if they hand down a lenient punishment so long as it is not below the threshold set out in the rules.

They don’t have to deduct points. I don’t think they will.
