One of best players today. There’s a good defender in this guy, hopefully he’s had time to reflect on performances pre covid and it he kicks on from here. Really routing for the guy

I think the absence of crowd will help him imo , he can concentrate on his game and hear his colleagues shouts .

Agreed, well done Mads. Was very critical of him earlier this season and IMO he should have been taken out of the team sooner. However the break and coming back to playing in this situation with no crowds could help him no end. Onwards and upwards.

Tbf I've always been team Mads since he did his first interview at Oakwell. He and Diaby were chucked in the deep end and needed the time we unfortunately didn't have to get up to speed. Mistakes are costly in the Championship as we well know.

Sollbauer at side of him makes a big difference. Steadying influence.

If I’m honest, I’m the same as you. His smile is infectious and I know it makes no difference but he seems to genuinely enjoy playing football for us.

After that first game against Fulham where he was winning everything and spraying it around like Beckenbauer, I thought we had another £5M centre back on our hands but his mistakes have cost us dearly this season. Hopefully he can have a steady enough end to the season from here!

I think your right his confidence had been in bits for a long time the derby at home and preston were the worst mostly costly individual performances I've ever seen at oakwell and he should have been rested long before it got to preston. Hopefully he can build himself up and regain his confidence I think there is a player there.

Nothing but praise for the lad on that showing. Let's hope he can keep it up,
because there's no doubt he's a big presence at the heart of our defence.

There most definitely a player there . When he’s full of confidence he’s a brick wall imo .
Obviously still young and learning and I think the absence of a crowd groaning at some of his howlers his team mates advice and encouragement will do wonders for him .

I’m not very good at match analysis but I got the impression there was a lot more Row Z balls in the last 20 minutes than I’ve seen in a long time from a BFC side

I thought Mads played brilliantly today, today's result is just what the doctor ordered.
Just been reading Tykes Mad and this is what one poster said (supposed to be a Barnsley supporter)"Well with this team the IDIOT has put out he must realise we had no chance anyway! Walton in goal, Palmer making debut but the icing on the cake Anderson starts we will probably concede 5 with that clown in defence he usually contributes 1 or 2 goals to the opposition". unbelievable.

I really agree with this. The two of them looked like a good partnership today. There was a goal-saving tackle from Sollbauer, too, which was probably the highlight of the game.

Sollbauer has made all the difference.

Playing alongside someone with nous and experience will make any of them better. Andersen did play well today; but it’s Sollbauer who to me every time I see him looks like the talking, organising centre back we craved from the start of the season.

We might stay up yet; the chances are we might not. Had we had Sollbauer all season, as opposed to the various combinations of Andersen, Halme, Diaby and Sibbick, I don’t think we’d have been so soft at the back nor conceded as much as we have. He could have been paired with any of them - though I’d say with either Bambo or Mads he’d have formed a great partnership; or even both in a three.

Don’t want to repeat what everyone has already said, but there was a moment in the first half where we pulled a 50 yard ball out of the air and controlled it on a six pemce% was unreal. Made some really positive forward passes today too.

There is a player in there. A very good one.

Would imagine the last 6 weeks or so of training and working with Sol, will have done wonders for him.

Thought Anderson played well first haif with his no nonsense bang it up field tactic (nice to see), second haif got done a couple of times at the back for pace with Solbauer nowhere near.

Big shout out for Jack Walton, that header out of the area and one save with his feet whilst not much to do, he was there when called upon.

Ritzmaier surprised he played the full 90.

Still a truly remarkable win. Well done lads.
