yes it's play offs, just found this. I hope HT go up. https://www.strayfm.com/news/local-...town-in-play-offs-after-national-league-vote/
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...gue-two-and-national-league-to-hold-play-offs They have to wait until the play off quarter finals are played to see who they play in the semis.
I think it'd be terrific if that happened. Another Yorkshire club in the league and a new club to the FL, too.
Got some mates who are fans of non-league clubs and apparently they’ve spent like Salford so are not that popular. Would be a good away day though if we ever played them.
My home town club. I was born and used to live a stone's throw from the ground. Not really sure how a small, quite posh town will be able to sustain league football, especially with Leeds so close. York is a much bigger place, but they have struggled of late to even maintain themselves in the National League.
I wish them all the very best but I do agree with you. I'm from Knaresborough so would love to see them promoted.
Spent many happy days out in Knaresborough as a kid. The bed race is something unique, as was the zoo (albeit for all the wrong reasons). Am I imagining it that a tiger escaped into the town shortly before it shut down?
The bed race is a cracking day out. It was a Lion and you didn't imagine it. I went to the same school as the kids whose parents owned the zoo.
But the Lion story could have been urban myth. I remember it being talked about at school but I couldn't give an official source to confirm it. I think a Tiger did escape too but I think it was recaptured inside the grounds.
My dad tells me that once when I was a kid and we were in the reptile house, one of the terrariums containing a snake hadn't been closed properly. Obviously he went and quickly tracked down a member of staff, not sticking around to find out if the snake was poisonous or not.
