Sat watching Colchester vs Exeter. And I'm sure there are people in the hospitality boxes. Is that allowed?

Also heard the tannoy system....... What's the point?

This is a game doing little for me other than to remind how shockingly bad a player Frank Nouble is.

PS - Missed the first few minutes and can't make out who the co-commentator is - it sounds like celebrity chef Tom Kerridge!

One of the dullest games of football I’ve ever watched. Can’t blame the players who are clearly miles off the pace but it’s not a good watch.

I genuinely sighed with relief when he said "that's the drinks break"!

    Wasn’t it Daniel Gabbidon?

Northampton Cheltenham has been a decent first half to watch.

I didn't think domestic cricket had started yet. However, I am old enough to have seen the Reds at the County Ground. It was a Thursday night (fixture congestion). We won 1-0 Derek Bell scored (I think). We followed it up with a 3-0 loss at Oakwell to Struggling Rochdale 2 days later.

Perhaps surprisingly our record against the Cobblers is not that good with only 6 wins from 24. They ahve 14 wins.

Ah yes, one of those rare days when Yorkshire TV came to see what all the fuss was about. ie our charge towards promotion under Allan Clarke.
The sun shone, the crowd was well into five figures, the result a foregone conclusion against "little" Rochdale. Just goes to show how inconsistent footballers can be. They had been running away with things all season and promotion was just around the corner. Then this......shocking afternoon!

True, but we had played Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday that week so not surprising we lacked some energy.

Correct. We then played Darlington at home on the Monday night and could only manager a 1-1 draw.

I’d forgotten that. Now I’ve looked, nine of the players started all those games too.

Small squads in those days, if you were fit you played.
