    My mums side of the family came down from Kilsyth. Coincidentally Laura's auntie Rita now lives near Kilsyth.

    He has some stunning scenery some poor weather on the west cost though. Edinburgh is a great city too - I dont really know Glasgow

    I've noticed Scotland has coastal towns. Are their any resorts like down here with amusement arcades and fairgrounds rides for a little'un.

    Lots more to Scotland than Edinburgh and Glasgow. And I prefer visiting Glasgow more than Edinburgh.

    I can highly recommend both the Scottish Highlands and North Wales. Both areas have stunningly beautiful scenery.

    I'd like to travel on the Fort William to Malaig line. I've visited the Great Orm tramway in North Wales.

    The people are extremely friendly and helpful, too.
    Although, one young woman in a pub in Lewiston couldn't understand a word I was saying. Apparently, she claimed it was due to my broad accent (load of rubbish!:D). However, she understood my wife perfectly!:D

    There’s a haven holiday park in Ayr used to be Butlins , highly recommended and you can buy cheap travel tickets for the whole Clydesdale area which includes Bus,Train , underground and some ferries .can make a day in Glasgow etc and some wonderful country especially culture Robbie Burns etc the brigadoon Ayr itself is lovely .

    Kirkcaldy has a yearly fairground amusement thing on the promenade. July time but you’d have to google it.
    Also St Andrews has a similar thing called the Lammas fair. Again you’d need to google it.
    Aberdeen have a sizeable funfair not far from Pittodrie called Cadonnas.
    I’m sure most coastal towns will have something to offer to take your money from you.

    I didn't mind Rhyl. One of my best holidays as a child. We visited Conwy Castle, Llandudno and went to see my uncle in Holyhead. I was mad about trains back then too and the Railrover ticket was valid to Crewe so had a morning at Crewe.

    It’s an Haven holiday centre now , self contained , entertainment , play areas , amusement arcades . Organised events for kids etc .

    We went on holiday to North Wales three years ago. I was stunned at the scenery. The small towns of Conwy & Llandudno were lovely, clean and well worth a visit.
