Results from latest EFL Covid-19 tests

'Following the latest round of COVID-19 testing, the EFL can confirm that 1058 players and Club staff from the 24 Championship Clubs were tested over the course of Thursday 28 May and Friday 29 May, with 10 individuals testing positive from eight Clubs.'

No League 1 testing.

Of 135 tested in League 2, seven people tested positive across three clubs.

You’d the players union would be saying “Hold on bit now lads” It’s every time figures are released,,, more positives. Can’t be right to start playing, can’t be.

 

Last time this was posted, it was two players at one club so to go to eight clubs affected, I'm not sure how they can hope to play on really if it keeps increasing.

Yes but it's not going to make a very good game of football if it's your two main goalies who's got it. Or your best striker and no 1 goalie. Or if they room with other players, as is quite common, and now everyone in the house has to isolate for 14 days so you're missing even more of your squad.

 

I wonder how many people are currently positive in the UK if everyone was tested.

It was quite common for me to go to my mum's for dinner a few months ago but I was forced to make changes. If any thick players are sharing rooms now then they are frankly imbeciles

 

Did you live at your mum's though? You're comparing visiting your mum for dinner with people who actually live together and are part of one household.

If that’s so now footballers are allowed contact Training sessions them 1 positive test means the whole team isolate until they can be tested again?

League two 94/95 % negative. Around the national average. Depending on which report you read.
Wonder how many footballers were showing symptoms. ( would be good to know seeing as championship players are I assume tested not showing symptoms)

Who the fcku gave the go ahead to allow footballers to get tested without symptoms. When no fecker else can.

 

Then you isolate the ones who are ill.

You know like they used to do when there was bouts of flu/viruses in the squad.

Stop looking at things through a negative slant.

 

The law doesn't say to isolate the ones who are ill, it says if you live in the same household as someone who tests positive you have to self isolate for 14 days. With the new track, trace and isolate if you have been in contact with someone who tests positive for more than 15 minutes you have to self isolate for 14 days.

 

I'm not sure but it's definitely a thing as in various interviews players have mentioned living with other players.

 

You're right it seems football is going to have to be exempt from this to carry on.

I know Alex Mowatt shares a house (or at least did a couple of years ago) with a Donny Rovers player. Can’t remember which player, but I remember seeing an interview where it was mentioned (maybe last season?)

 

As it stands track trace and contact measures that the government have kicked off this week are voluntary. There is no legal requirement to participate.

EFL basic guidelines state that a positive test means the subject has to self isolate for 7 days and can only return to training once a negative sample has been returned.

This differs if they show no symptoms in which case they have take two additional tests. The two tests are negative then they are clear for training. If they return positive then they have to isolate for fourteen days.

There’s more specific guidelines based on the severity of a positive result but I think I am quite familiar with the rules. . .
