Just read the concession prices for 65 year olds, but does anyone know if the concession is still in place for those that have been a continuous ST holder for a long time and are now 60 before the qualifying date.

As far as I know it's still in place, it was last season...I dont know how many seasons you need to qualify

That’s what I was wondering, it doesn’t mention this arrangement in the new pricing on the official site. I’ve had an ST since the Prem season So should be ok in the number of seasons required to qualify. Cheers

When I was 60 I just went into the box office and they sorted it no problem, last year a friend of mine was one day out on the qualifying date, he did the same...no problem

Hi @Tarntyke . Beth just messaged me the following to pass onto you:

Supporters who have had a season ticket since 2009 (when we raised the age limit from 60 to 65) will still qualify at age 60 provided there has been no lapse in membership, However, the system won't recognise this automatically we need to do a manual adjustment. Ask them to email me, memberships@barnsleyfc.co.uk with their name and client code and preferably a contact number and I'll check it on Friday. Working from home tomorrow.

Glad you got a sensible answer TT
I thought that was the case but not sure if this lot would honour it.

i'm 63 and held a season ticket for 20+ years so my ticket still qualifies me for the grandad rights as i was a holder before it was upped from 60 to 65 p.s. i got the reduction at 60

Oh great... yet a other variable to ponder. I'm 59 this year, so if I opt not to renew due to the current uncertainties, my ST record will show a break, which will disqualify me for the concession at age 60.

    Decisions, decisions... :(

In your case, you’ll claim that money back in discounts in future years so it’s not really a gamble at all. You could see it as paying up front for a saving later and you might get some matches this year too.

I’m 56 this year so that had come into my mind too. If the club intends to continue to honour this then I’d definitely renew as I’d get the cash back in future savings. Gally, can you ask if the club intends continuing to honour this please....?
