True. The EFL drafting up proposals is all folly until we know what's happening in the Premier League. If there is no relegation in the Premier League would three teams still be promoted from he EFL Championship? I doubt it the big clubs like their end of season jollys too much.

GOT IT!! The governing bodies use the PPG formula to decide final placings. They take the financial hit of litigation,,,,,then next year, use the formula to win the litigation costs back on fixed odds coupon. What could possibly go wrong??

Can't we just draw up the final standings in alphabetical order and ditch this meaningless points nonsense altogether?

We should get Neil Ferguson and Imperial to do the predictions - we'd have had 557 billion points if there'd been no interruption to the season.

Love the idea. Great for us. Only problem wendies will still escape. Still, you can’t have everything I suppose.
Unless they change the name to just Wendy. Prior to announcement. “We’re all Wendy aren’t wi”

Surely with the points reduction from breaking ffp they'd be down under this system?

I have a big issue with possibly Coventry, Rotherham and Wycombe voting to curtail the season for their own self interest. In this scenario I feel it is unacceptable that we get relegated and replaced by teams that haven't fully earned the right to promotion. In this instance there should be playoff between the teams in the relegation zone with the promotion zone teams. It would make the top League 1 teams think again as to how they vote. Indeed teams such as Peterborough could indeed support the idea as it would encourage continuation of the season.

So your suggesting Helen. we’re all on zero points alphabetically. And wendies on - points deducted then it throws G. O’s. Plan out of the window. Cos he wants to ditch the points system altogether. But put it to him to see if he will accept that into his theory. :)
Can you please add Gordon. Sounds like a better cunning plan. It has my vote. :)

I beg to disagree, there's every chance they could win 6.

The Reading and Cardiff games were massive. Lost momentum there. I believed until then.

Why dont we settle it with a crossbar challenge. Players dont even need to travel then.

It was a stalwart of rivetting entertainment at oakwell for years so why not roll it out nationwide. Job done.

if that fails maybe someone has an old shed.

What a load of nonsense. Why not just keep it simple and use an elementary equation such as the one below to sort out how to complete the season.

    https://www.tranmererovers.co.uk/ne...-proposed-equitable-end-to-201920-efl-season/

Last night I put forward my proposals for a just and equitable method of ending the season in the event that Clubs are unable (or vote not) to play on.

Many of you have been asking what the result of this would be on the tables and what the promotion, play off and relegation consequences would be if the season was ended on this basis now. We are therefore publishing the data and the resultant tables.

The tables are designed to be illustrative and there are areas for debate amongst clubs, as part of a proper consultation - for example whether a team should only get automatic promotion if they cannot be caught by the team behind them even when a margin for error is applied. As such they should be seen as a framework for debate rather than a “take it or leave it” proposal.

The issues are complex and the need to get the right answer is more important than the need to get a quick answer. As such it would be possible to take a decision now on whether to end the season for everyone not involved in the playoffs and, if so, to proceed with the playoffs on our proposed basis using the margin for error, but to delay a decision on relegations until the outcome of the Premier League is known. This would remove any concerns regarding a “no relegation” proposal opening the door to the Premier League doing the same.

It can only be one of 2 ways.
    1. Play all remaining Fixtures.
    2. The season is null and void.
