Really looking forward to this one tonight! There is a caveat though, that in as much as it should be brilliant it could also be a disaster as we're looking to share unseen footage from the film as we chat about how it came together, where the inspiration came from, which players behaved like Hollywood stars, etc. As we do it live there's a risk of playing the wrong clip, forgetting to press play, not turning the sound on, and it's unlikely the video stream will be 100% smooth depending on your own internet connection and how you're streaming it. We'll try our best though!
Sounds great. Looking forward to it. After doing the Ritchie/Holdenhurst interview I'm sure you can cope with this!
These interviews are fab. When I go to the football, no matter how bad we play, it's time in which I don't have to think about everyday life such as work. The interviews work the same way. Cheers for doing them
As an added incentive to watch it, I'm in it. Or maybe that's an incentive to avoid it? Anyone else from the BBS in the film?
If you havent seen the film yet, where have you been hiding? You can get hold of a copy here https://daydream-believers.co.uk/ You wont be dissapointed!
I agree, it just touches every emotion that I experienced during those two years. It wouldn't have been the same imo if it had been a commercial venture. Thanks for the questions Ben and well done on getting the clips to play!
That's probably my favourite one so far. Especially knowing the clips seemed to play pretty well for everyone? It's underestimated sometimes how much all those involved gave up to create that. Simply brilliant.
I've been absent from these pages for a while but I think it's a good time to break my silence on here. Ben - that was just SUPERB and deeply felt thanks to the other two lads involved! I've enjoyed every one of your broadcasts these last few weeks, either watching live or catching up later, but this was just amazingly good to watch. I hate the fact that I couldn't get to any of the showings of the film on release but, of course, I bought the DVD and I feel like watching it again right now. Small problem with that though - I took it to my Spanish property a few months ago and it's sitting on my DVD shelf there. I imagine you are coming to the end of this series of interviews now which is a shame, but at least that will mean that football is back and, despite the current situation at Oakwell, I can't wait to travel down the A1 again for some proper live football. I hate to sound all Flicker-esque but we all need to be thinking of making some new memories. My obsession with this club dates back to 1963 so I have plenty of old ones to reminisce about but it's nice to imagine good times ahead. Despite some fans' gloomy attitudes about our football club the good times will come back again. Nobody expected that Daydream Believer period. Who's to say we can't repeat that, somehow, some time in the future?
Good to see a familiar name posting again - and thank you! It felt extra special tonight when filming it live so I'm glad that appears to be resonating with some people who watched. Amongst what feels like a barrage of negative headlines right now it was a positive 90 minutes, which is a testament to what everyone involved in that film did when they worked so incredibly hard to put it together. Credit to Chris and Liam as well for being up for it and pulling some unseen clips together for us to share. We've got plans to keep it going for the foreseeable future whilst it's needed, and have enough planned guests for the whole of June, but we might clash with live games so just holding back from announcing them for now. I've got a phone call with a former deep-sea diver tomorrow ..........
Deep sea diver?? What position did he play Chris and Liam were brilliant throughout tonight and so modest about what was a massive achievement. We’re lucky to have such people connected with our club, and you’re included in that as well. It’s been an absolute joy listening to all of these broadcasts.
