    I find them really interesting and seeing them in colour when they've previously only been black and white I find fascinating. The tank photo is during world war two by the way

    It said it was outside the town hall but to me it looks a bit lower down the hill too

    Depends on whether you are referring to the actual building or the grounds which do continue down to Shambles street. Some great photos especially if you are old enough to remember when the Coop and Market did look like that. And Mark 1 cortinas
    Edit actually I think the car I was referring to was a Corsair

    It amazes me how I prefer the look of the town in the 1940s to what it is now. Some really tommy tit designs gone off post 1970.

    Just hope the 2021 look is decent once finished.

    Looking at it again you’re probably right but it’s probably on the road at the start of shambles street rather outside near the soldier

    Does anyone remember the plastic money (coins) that your mam got in change from the Co-op? If I scout about a bit I think I've still got some. I always thought it was a bit of a fiddle they gave you change in coins you could only spend at the Co-op. Imagine if Asda did that!

    True,the railings in the crowd pictures are the ones outside the town hall
