Read it again - I said most in the council estate could afford the same.
Meat is far more expensive now than it was when I was a kid.

If you are the size you are because your dad could afford so much meat why isn't everyone from the council estate as big as you are if they were all eating it? ;)

I dont think curiosity made you ask the question. If I'd answered 'yes' would you have replied, fair enough 'just asking out of curiosity'? Or would you have mentioned caged animals and not being in their natural habitat etc and maybe said I'm a hypocrite? This is my assumption but be honest yours was a loaded question. I have no issue with people owning pets by the way, I think they bring a lot of joy in these horrible times, and i wish i owned a dog to an extent. I just wonder why you asked the question other than 'just out of curiosity..' Anyways, I'm signing off for the night. Have a good weekend all. Stay safe and keep your spirits up. All Barnsley aren't we

It was out of curiosity, mainly I was thinking of a vegetarian friend when I asked it who fed her dog a vegetarian diet. But I wasn't looking to trip you up.
    Night night.

Night Night, don't let the Young Nudge bite. He's just a pillocker, does more winding up than an onsetter.

And oddly you actually believe that food costs more now than it used to?

Either you're just lying on purpose or your degree is worth bugger all. ;)

A tiny amount of research gives me that a whole chicken has about doubled in price since 1980 - average earnings have quadrupled (rounded for ease) that makes the chicken half the price in real terms.

I understand that argument. It was, specifically, the argument that we're not naturally omnivores that I was addressing. We can now make moral choices and I understand the moral choice not to eat meat And I, if our species survives long enough, it will be the one that prevails and those of us who do eat meat will look like dinosaurs.
