It's been a very long time since I have posted on here and havent been on here to read anything since football stopped so sorry if this has already been posted Yesterday we all got briefed out about 2 confirmed cases at the warehouse, we all knew it was going to happen as we have had multiple people with symptoms who have been told to self isolate, there are now rumours that up to 9 people have been tested positive and has been reported in the mirror newspaper, in the paper it says it Is a small percentage of people, well let's put it into numbers if they want to play that game, 3500 people work at asos of which 2 definitely confirmed could be 9 if rumours true, 3500 people work in the warehouse that they are refusing to close for a deep clean and have refused to close throughout the entire pandemic, 3500 people in one place that may have now been exposed to the virus is more than the confirmed cases in the whole of the uk today, which could have the potential to spread through Barnsley and the workers families, if it is now going to spread around the warehouse NHS in barnsley could have some major problems Just wanted it to get out there sorry for bringing up a coronavirus thread as you have probably had thousands already and fed up of them but thought this would be important
If Asos becomes responsible for a major spike in Barnsley, the council will have a hell of a lot to answer for. They've pandered to this Company from the start and actively supported and allowed them to stay open.
yeah because they are a major employer and barnsley council want them to stay in Barnsley because them as well as asos are money greedy
We have had positive cases in our office, they just ‘deep clean’ the office. Although they are constantly cleaning and now there are Plentiful supplies of wipes, spray cleaner and hand sanitiser. Can’t stop folk bringing it in though.
According to my mam, two people have died of it at the factory where my dad works, not sure how many would have also tested positive.
How can ASOS be responsible for a major spike? For a start you can’t prove it had stemmed from there. You can’t prove any individual who has tested positive became infected in the workplace. I’m not excusing ASOS if they have been proven to be irresponsible and even reckless, then action is needed sooner than later, but blaming a company that employs a large amount of ‘foreign’ people for being the cause of a major spike in a town, is at best misleading and at worst dangerous.
Sir Steve needs to be sacked over that he allowed a highly populised warehouse to remain open with the risks involved even next shut down their operations
because it’s simply a dig at the council for being Labour controlled and without any substantial proof ( at this moment in time) that they simply allowed it to happen as has been alleged. It could fuel the Xenophobes agenda.
If the Labour Council have played a part in this should it escalate, then they should rightly be criticised. Did you see Johnson's performance today in the Commons? Any thoughts?
Genuine question as I’ve not seen the letter. Does that prove that ASOS we’re doing anything wrong, or The Council knew they were and allowed it to continue?
Workers and the Gmb Union has raised concerns about social distancing, the council visited the site and sent a letter to the bosses allowing them to stay open
