Its allowed to reopen today I think - or is that just full size golf courses. The course I belong to opened today - but with severe restrictions - only allowed to play in 2 balls who must remain 2m apart at all times, all bunkers GUR and rakes removed. Not allowed to touch the flag and encouraged to be generous with gimmies etc. Also locker rooms closed bar closed (obviously). Also due to expected high demand and to space people out more only allowed to play 9 holes so you have to play either the front 9 or the back 9. social golf only - no competitions The rules do make sense and its probably as safe a way as getting exercise as any other. Hoping to play tomorrow
I played when I was younger then gave it up as I played cricket every summer for 20 years. But I jacked that in a couple of years ago and the wife found me a set of free clubs on freecycle. Started playing again and love it. If anyone is looking for some headspace and escapism from the day to day grind or your problems, I can really recommend it. Of course it's not everyone's cup of tea - but on a nice summer evening on a quiet, beautiful course it's absolute heaven. The best non-medication I can think of. Ive got a game booked at 5.35pm this Friday. Day off work, bliss.
