His generation in which I’m one actually have done more to protest at unfairness and injustices than any of the current generation .
Protests were common in the sixties , seventies and eighties . Where are the protests now ?
Whether we did any good or not is opinion, mine is we wore them down on some and lost on others . Anti Apartheid, Poll Tax, etc were all successful protests .

Did you not see the pro-EU or climate change marches? Those folk were criticised for protesting then.

Yes I did see some footage on telly , not as active now as I used to be .
People pulling them off underground trains and assaulting some of them weren’t from my generation we’re far too old for that .
Came against some very fierce opposition to protests from the public myself especially in London by seemingly well to do sorts in the miners strike .

Meant the Greta Thunberg kids who do great protests. I’d forgot about extinction rebellion lot, think they went too far on many occasions to be honest.

Other than killing someone you never go too far in protests lol.
Most times your pushed into it ,the police have a knack of doing their dirt before cameras go on them just as you’ve lashed out .
Never showed the police thumping miners sat in their cars at roadblocks or smashing windscreens etc.then herding us like cattle .
I’ve been to many protests, picket lines , football matches where there would have been no trouble if police hadn’t riled them then point cameras at them . It’s as if they wanted to justify the overtime or summat but that’s just the cynic in me (or is it)

My daughter has friends in the final year. It's been a real anticlimax for them.

Fortunately my daughter and others in her year had done the minimum 1000 hours of act
Fortunately my daughter got her 1000 hours of practical physiotherapy* study in so all being well will graduate this summer. Hopefully there will be a graduation ceremony in the autumn.
As a student she has spent more time with her mates than with her family these last 3 years - they've lived together - found digs together - partied together! - supported each other - and done some work! Three years ago she was an apprehensive 18 year old - now she's a confident 21 year old.
I think they're all planning a get-together at some point but it's not the same as all leaving together.
