Yes, that spoke volumes of what he thinks about the current administration. I fully respect him for not returning without the option to build something he & we would be proud of. I don't think it's a cop out, I think it's reality. It's pretty much what Ritchie & Holden said on Friday TBH about the Cryne era too. Truth is, since administration we've been unable or unwilling to compete, depending who you believe.

Another quality stream. Thanks Ben. What a modest bloke Mick is. His obvious love of his home town
Club shone through. Good luck to him in whatever he might do in the future.

Always try and include everything that’s asked if it’s reasonable and if they don’t ask for it to be excluded. He really didn’t seem to have a clue where that nickname came from!

That’s why I’m always posting for questions. Much easier to start with 10/15 from fans than create them all on my own

That really was excellent, we even got a tour of his house thrown in to the bargain. Best line for me was when we were starting to go through the leagues, 'Nobody laughed at Barnsley anymore'. Well done Ben, and thanks again.

Has anyone so far Loko asked for anything excluded and if so what?

Mick just wanted to talk about Barnsley and football in general, and remove anything political or about ‘Mr Keane’.

Fair enough really as I still had whittle 50 questions down to 40 and just about squeezed them all in - even removing those. Makes sense as well with Mick still being in the game and the profile that would come with any controversial comments. Easier to keep it Barnsley focused and positive.

Agree and did notice the Roy Keane business was omitted.

    Any others?

    Honestly, no.

Hecky and Gauthier were the two that I thought might analyse the questions but they came back saying ‘all good’ which was a pleasant surprise.

I think you have to word it in a way that it’s just a general and natural question that flows, rather than looking like you want them to spill info or say something controversial. If that makes sense?

Of late I've been watching a number of videos on Roy Keane. If you distill the content, he seems to thrive on
confrontation and is your modern day " angry young man".

Apart from Viera and Harland who clashed with him on field, his major run ins appear to be with anyone in a
position of authority, re- Sir Alex and Mick being just two classic instances. He had his disagreements with Cloughie
but the latter sorted that out by hitting him, so he didn't push his luck and in the end, came to respect him.

Throughout our lives, we all have grievances and quite often come across individuals we don't see eye to eye with.
To me, that's all part of life. In not wanting to discuss Keane, in my book shows that Mick McCarthy is the better man,
because instead of whingeing about what happened, he's risen above it and doesn't want to fan the flames over
an incident that happened some eighteen years ago.

As my old Dad used to say, " there's no accounting for taste, but there's no excuse for ignorance" and to a lot of
people who have come up against him, Keane he has changed from thinking he was being bullied into becoming
    a bully himself.

Some interviewers ask a question then also give the answer before the interviewee does(If that makes sense) . You don't , and it's all the better for it. The best refs are the ones we don't notice.
    We'll done.

Mick wouldn’t say anything noteworthy about Keane anyway.

Both met years ago & cleared the air & agreed not to criticise the other publicly. It’d be a waste of time bringing it up.

Well done Ben... Another 10 out of 10
Folk no mater who they are will talk if feeling relaxed and at ease a big part of that only comes when they feel comfortable with the one doing the interview ... You are doing a marvellous job... You ask the questions sit back and let them roll
Big thank you and a massive well done...to you

It was definitely Mick McCarthy calling Phil Chambers it - one of those things from being young that stuck in my mind. My brother took pics of Allan Clarke and Mick McCarthy and we got the printed photos signed when they were done, they’re still at my mums somewhere. I used to copy their autographs for whenever I got famous, to copy their writing lol

Could it have been in reference to Arthur Albiston of Man Utd who also played left back at that time?

There's a fifty eight minute video entitled " Red Mist" on You Tube and in it, Keane slags Mick and
Irish FA off about the happenings at the training ground in Taipan during the World Cup in 2002
and it was made around two years ago, so it looks as though he still bears a grudge.
Some of the comments he makes, are less than complimentary as far as Mick is concerned.
