No offence taken ST. Can’t remember word for word what the government website said but under the utilities heading it says something about primary supplies and waste management providers. I’d come under both. I’m not after a medal or anything just saying what I understand to be the case. Utility companies need aggregates as do local authorities, both need to dispose of their waste/arisings. Hence we’re classed as key workers and have a letter stating such from the group CEO should we be stopped by the Police whilst commuting which has happened to a couple of my colleagues. It doesn't make me any more or less important than I ever have been, it’s just coming to work as usual for me.

That's another thing that frustrates me, people (your CEO) thinking that you need to justify your job to the police to go to work. The only justification you need is why you can't work from home, other than that anyone at all is allowed to work. Although it would be a bit pointless tk maxx having its employees go to work with the door shut

Surely you don't need to know any million/billionaires before condemning something as immoral? There's stacks of literature on non tax payment you could read.

I'll note your lack of actual engagement on the actual issues and instead boiling it down to, "different opinions and to knowing any million/billionaires".

 

Come to think of it watcher I did know a millionaire in fact I worked for one. A bloke I greatly admired both as a boss and a businessman. I can’t remember what the figure was I think it was profit of 300k and anything above that the company paid a higher rate of tax so to avoid that he increased his wage bill by paying all his staff an annual bonus. Of course we all paid tax via paye but that particular millionaire avoided paying extra tax to fund Blairs labour by passing profits onto us. Top bloke but sold it to a knob I couldn't work for. Other than that I can’t engage with you on the subject because I don’t know too much about it. Whats a burning issue for some isn't for others.
