For those who are a bit older one of the musicians from my late teens Dave Greenfield of the Stranglers has fallen victim to CV-19 - though he did have a preexisting condition and wasnt well looks like he caught it in Hospital Sad news again https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-52537293
That's very sad. The Stranglers were always musically a cut above. If I lived to be a 100 and practised every day I wouldn't have been able to play keyboards like him.
Gutted. Love the Stranglers and saw them live in Leeds last April. This autumn was supposed to be their farewell tour but sadly I think that’ll be it now. RIP Dave G

Sad news. The Stranglers albums have been on my play list for 40 odd years and are still just as good to listen to as they were back then. RIP Dave.
I saw them in 1983 at Reading. They have a great sound. I always wanted to buy The Raven, I used to look longingly in Casa Disco but the bands name would not at the time, got approval at home.
Another of my heroes gone. Rattus Norvegicus is one of my favourite albums ever. RIP Dave. I hope you hit that water high.
One of the few vinyls I bought at the time (I had a big ghetto blaster in my bedroom so most were cassettes) Still got all the early stuff up to European Female. R.I.P. Dave
I'm guessing you didn't have The Sex Pistols album then either. The Raven is a great album and the title track remains a favourite of mine. Love to play this in the car.
Managed to see the Stranglers a couple of times with Hugh and once after he left. Good nights. I knew Jet Black had health issues, but wasn't aware of Dave Greenfield having them - although he was 71 this year. I didn't know it was their final tour this year either - I might have gone if I'd known and could make it. RIP Dave (Surprised nobody linked to his best song) Or another very famous theme tune.
