In my experience I wouldn't want to live how the ones who choose to be unemployed do.

I didn't need to do the maths son, I knew it was flawed I was just illustrating a point. you were on the ropes as soon as you decided that folk weren't any worse off on 80% of their wage cos they couldn't go out for a curry. Your assumption being that the reduction in wages is proportional to the reduction in household costs. Some folk live week by week, as a self styled man of the people you’d know that. Really Donny you’ve let yourself down fella. No worse off on 80% of your wages. Make a tory of you yet :)

So because I post about my experiences and not about billionaires I’ve never met it means I condone what they do ? Because I don’t post about climate change, homophobia, Syria, human rights does it mean they don’t bother me. I say what I see, don’t like it don’t read it.

weve seen your views on Greta Thunberg too! Don’t make yourself out to be something you aren’t on our behalf. We see what you post, we see what you think and write down. It’s not hard to join the dots is it.

don’t like what others think of you? Tough, go back to breaking rocks

I'm working and my wife is working from home. I'm not spending 200£ a month going to the pub or out for a meal or treating the grandkids to days out. We are definitely saving money (which I seldom do in normal circumstances) although we both have our full wages

It’s always obvious when you’re out of your depth, you resort to ‘nip’ or ‘son’ which is an odd way to address a grandad ;)

If I earn 70,000 and spend 50,000 I’m well off.

if I earn £80,000 but spend £82,000 I’m ******. Financial stability doesn’t solely depend on income, outgoings are just as important.

once more - I’m happy to give lessons on this as it’s obvious simple maths is beyond you.

and as you can see now, plenty of us have the evidence in our bank accounts that lockdown means we’re not spending anywhere near what we’re used to.

Logic is cruel when you try to bullsh it your way through the world isn’t it ;)

History's shows that whenever you enter this type of discussion you don't mention millionaires or billionaires. Even in this one you chose to highlight someone that got your back up replying,

... shows where your priorities are. And to be fair I'm not trying to single you out to make an example of you or anything, society is like this as a whole because its conditioned to be so. Where are the shows humiliating tax dodging billionaires? I can sit and watch shows about court bayliffs coming to take away builders vehicles to pay £3k they owe whilst their kids stand there crying, yet the tax dodgers? Barely a whistle...

I'm sure you're a decent guy, most people are. Just channel that frustration on the proper direction! ;)

I don’t really give two hoots what you think, you’re not a big part of my life, my views on an indulged brat are somewhat different than my views on the state of the environment, the two aren't necessarily the same thing.

Waste management doesn't end when the operative empties your bin. Never wondered who sorts it and what happens to the various waste streams from the local dumpit site, or the arisings from utility and/or roadworks, or who blends the soils into your green waste to turn it into compost and other soil related products ? Waste has to be reprocessed and re used as part of the circular economy, sticking it in landfill these days is a very last resort.

You don't need to give me any lessons on finance Donny I’m used to running P&L accounts but you’re clearly on the ropes trying to justify your flawed logic. But you’re never wrong. If my mrs working from home as she has been since her op goes from full pay to 60% of her income how can we be no worse off just because we cant spend it. What did you tell your grandkids at easter, I’ve not bought you an easter egg this year but you're no worse off because I can’t bring it for you to eat anyway. I would think most folk are able to save a bit more during lockdown, but surely you can see that saving less than you would otherwise be able makes you worse off.

Some of the time I agree with Donny-Red and some of the time I don't.

However, I did wince a bit when I saw the patronising term "son" he included in a post on here. Whilst he is clearly no mug and is intelligent, his confrontational, uncompromising and often patronising style of posting tends to, IMO at least, negate much of what he posts which is unfortunate -(that coming from someone who enjoys a bit of confrontational debate). I do often robustly defend my position but have been known to on numerous occasions 'yield' when proved wrong

He does come across as someone who believes his PoV is the only correct one and everyone disagreeing is wrong.

Overall, It indicates (maybe I am way off the mark here) someone educated, probably with a university education and degree, intelligent but relatively young and immature.

I hesitate to give advice for fear of being accused of being patronising and therefore hypocritical, but Donny-Red, just tone it down a bit. Your opinions and content are interesting but the tone and manner in which you post often masks the value and the thread, as this one has, degenerates into a slanging match which is a pity.

Talked yourself into a corner as you often do when debating with me and resorts to playground taunts rather than holding your hands up. We’re all wrong from time to time Donny, yes even you. Some of us are big enough to hold their hands up and admit it. Try it sometime.

You do realise you're talking about the wrong poster when you mention the use of 'son'

It's Farage Two Six who has to resort to that.
