The government for over a month have told us not to touch our face and Rick is there picking his pineapple
It is but it's nothing new. People have known this for years but we're quickly shut down by others who say but Patrick saved the club. He is a saint. He can do no wrong etc
As I've often said, no one is perfect and we all make mistakes. Patrick wanted Barnsley to succeed and he did save the club, no getting away from that. I too wish that we'd spend more on players at times though.
Hilarious. Really enjoyed that frank and entertaining interview. Loved the Simon Davey set up with the Isle of Man. He certainly doesn't mince his words Rick. Shame they weren't given the backing they deserved.
That's been a brilliant way to end the week, perfect tonic during the lockdown. They were both excellent players in their time too
I honestly think it was a lot more than just mistakes with him. I won't go into ut except to say that there are a hell of a lot of former players and managers now hinting at less than savoury dealings with him
Is it safe for me to cancel the ambulance squad that I've had on standby for you in case you had an heart attack?
I suppose the flip side was how much money would it have taken to get players in of the calibre they wanted ? We also have had former players and managers saying they've had their differences with him but still had the respect. I would love it if for once we did get that sort of player that actually could let us have a chance of the Premiership again.
I think it was always known that there was an issue with recruitment during Gordon Shepherd's time at Barnsley. That was no surprise to hear, but it was different hearing it from two people who obviously felt passionately that with support they'd have taken us on to much greater things. The criticism of Patrick was only about his use of the phrase 'box office signings', which many a fan repeated throughout that season, so a non-story there really in my opinion.
No lockdown on the Isle of Man. I think they've only had half a dozen confirmed cases. He was doing his hair at the start, but that was about as professional as it got!
As Patrick held the purse strings I really took it as heavy criticism of him for not backing them financially By the way can we have Paul the perv as your next interviewee?
I think the brunt of the criticism was aimed at Gordon Shepherd to be honest. Yes they wanted backing, but the operational side was obviously lacking somewhere as well. Did you twig which Paul they were referring to?
