I think most are but there are definitely one or two on here who flat out refuse to look at the bigger picture because it doesn't effect them. There are others I know who I know DO see the bigger picture but are so selfish that they are only caring about themselves.

In some ways, you are correct. I'm lucky enough to be still working and will be until at least the end of June - and its looking like I will be continuing after that too. But, I don't want you to be ill (or worse die) or have to suffer the guilt from knowing that you passed it onto someone that was seriously ill or died. Worst still, I'm worried about being forced to go back to work "properly" and catching it (my weekly commute is 5+ hours on trains + 2 flights) and worse still, infecting my wife who is higher risk. As for the lockdown, I haven't seen my child since February or my parents since early March, and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future to keep us all safe.

The financial aspect is out of my control, but I've been arguing for Emergency Basic Income for everyone for a couple of months now - with everyone getting an amount of money to stay at home (they could reduce the tax allowance to account for those still getting paid). Government could also keep companies going by settling their ongoing costs in return for a share in the business - until the debt is repaid, but these are political choices and no matter how much I want to help you/everyone out financially, the people of the UK are getting the government they voted for, who have made it as difficult as possible for many companies to get loans or grants (while promising the earth) and would self-combust if they even thought of giving money away to people. Which forces people to go back to work early at risk to their health, and leaves companies to just sack 12000 like BA or 3000 like EasyJet.

3: Poor people are dying at disproportionate rates.
