Thankyou for the reply, what makes you think Starmer would do a better job?

I’m not being a argumentative git either I’m just interested in what people think

Clearly its based on opinion but the fact he started his career working on human rights cases as a barrister makes me think he might be more inclined to put a higher priority on people than Boris and Cummings.
He also comes over as much more competent that Boris and Raab - and much more about substance than slogans. The current cabinet don't give a feeling they are really in control and definitely seem more concerned about the presentation than the actual plan.

A coalition wouldn’t have gone amiss, it certainly would’ve meant more transparency and it couldn’t have possibly been more inept than the current chancers running the show. Perhaps you could start the ball rolling by defending your anti- Labour stance against the criticism and damnations Of your beloved Tories

    Haha........ok!!

Like I’ve pointed out previously I have no affiliation with any party, where have I claimed my love for the tories? Is this because I don’t wear a red rosette and ask people for alternative views?

Methinks the poster protests a little too much.

I don’t know why anybody gives a toss about government figures given the fake covid death toll. Just don’t believe what they say, they couldn’t lay in bed straight!

This first part isn't a flippant answer, but I'd imagine Starmer isn't the kind of person who as PM and a prospective parent would have turned up at a hospital ward shaking hands when Covid was around and continue to do so until 5 more people had died. It nearly cost him his life, his wife and future son a father, and left the government without a PM for a week or three. Grossly irresponsible idiocy, but not that unexpected.

That said I've not been overly impressed with Starmer so far, mainly because of him banging on about a plan to open back up, but it's early days.

Had Labour been in power since 2010 (yes, impossible but since you asked!) there's the distinct likely hood they'd have invested and not underfunded NHS services. I'd like to think they'd have not ignored the Operation Cygnus report for the simple reason that their keystone promises are based around the NHS whereas the Tories have to be cajoled into giving it money at every stage. They'd have more than likely not allowed PPE stocks to wither away. The Government can't (or won't) account for where 20 million pieces of them have gone to and seem keen to inflate their current numbers by counting single gloves, not pairs of gloves!

Hancock has left it tight but I think today on his last day of meeting the target he will reach it so he will save face by doing what he set out to do.

Yes, he will reach his goal. But the very first thing I learned when I left school was, “believe nowt you’re told and only half what you see, and you’ll not go far wrong “.
The second was “A good marker beats a good player every time”. Make of that what you will.

I think Maradonna, Messi and Ronaldo blows that one apart. You could put three good markers on those buggers and in 90% of games they'll still do something that destroys you.
