https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/c...ough-talks-cricket-coaching-Andy-Caddick.html Makes it clear he's a Barnsley fan and a few of his answers are Barnsley related.
He was in the Hilton Hotel when we played Cardiff City in the FA Cup Semi final. Makes no secret of the fact he's a Red, but his "other" team at that time was Spurs. When he played for Yorkshire, he lived in Ossett for a time. He was a regular at the Cinnamon Lounge Indian restaurant at Horbury Bridge and to this day, in his honour, they still do a special called " the Darren Gough Special Platter."
He was once discussing Leeds with Adrian Durham and he said he wanted them to do well. Adrian Durham replied saying "You call yourself a Barnsley fan but you want Leeds to do well, are you having a laugh"? Goughie said that most Barnsley fans wanted Leeds and the other Yorkshire clubs to do well. I thought it made him sound a bit out of touch but that aside he's ok.
Reyt indian that and it’s reopening on Friday (delivery and take out only). We’ll be ordering for our Friday night supper.
Quote "Best thing Thatcher did was to close the mines" Or something to that effect. Or am I i miss quoting?
Pretty sure I cricket against him at school when he was at Monk Bretton - we were 20 all out! Got them down to 19 for 9 - bowlers definitely on top
I played for De La Salle at cricket and in one game against Spurley Hay ( Rotherham), we were bowled out for eleven. They were really cocky, as they went out to bat, but miraculously, we managed to get them out for eleven thus forcing an unbelievable draw.
We could have won - they went for a dodgy run and our fielder was going to pick it up to throw it in but the ball dropped down a hole
The pitch at Monk Bretton school was shocking - potholes everywhere and grass that hadn't been cut for about three months - didn't suit our game at all!!!lol
