He was very humble, really open, and as nice a guy as everyone has repeatedly said he was. Does make you wonder if he was too nice to be a manager like some have said in the past.

Some serious icons of the game mentioned in that hour.

Every interview is in the sticky thread at the top of the page and is updated after each one. All eight interviews are there and on our YouTube channel to watch whenever people want.

Our Virgin broadband was down for a full 26 hours, so I had to watch the stream this morning.
Really enjoyed it Ben. Loved the stories about my favourite Cloughie. What a man he must have
been. Viv was very honest and I liked the way he spoke about Danny and another Red who is revered
at Oakwell, namely Eric Winstanley. What a servant he was to the Club and shame on Spackman for his attitude
    towards Winny.

As for Vivs question as to who beat us in the Cup in his solitary season, the answer is Oldham Athletic
in the 5 th Round on their way to meeting Man United in the semi final. I went to the game which was
played at Boundary Park. Season 1993/94 Oldham were in the First Division. They had some top players
viz: Graeme Sharp, Earl Barrett, Mike Milligan, Dennis Irwin etc, but it was the guests Ben is interviewing
on Thursday, namely Andy Ritchie and Rick Holden who had the biggest influence on the game.

I always remember Rick Holden looked threatening every time they gave him the ball and he was involved
in setting Andy Ritchie up for the only goal that settled the game for Joe Royles Latics. In the League Cup we lost
in Round 2 to Peterborough by four goals to two. Owen Archdeacon netted a penalty in a 1-1 first leg draw at
Oakwell and Bryson scored in a 1-3 reversal at London Road.

At the end of the 93/93 season , as we know, we finished 18th and Oldham were relegated from the First
Division after three seasons in the top flight.

Did they still have the plastic pitch then? I went to a couple of sorry aways there when they did, stood on that open kop.

The plastic pitch was installed in 1986 and as the First Division rule was that all games had to be played on grass
it was taken up at the end of the 1990/91 season when the Latics were promoted, so our 5 th Round tie was played
on grass. I went to all our away games there and agree JP, we never seemed to get anything . I believe it's the highest
ground in the EFL, so one memory is that it was always very cold whenever we played them.
