Could it be the Meteor shower that is happening at the moment?

We all make a big deal about plastic and saving the planet but then film it when a private company outs thousands of tons of metal into space

Poor show tonight. Nearly froze my nuts off for half a dozen plus a meteor over half an hour.

Finally I got to see something. Several somethings actually. Thanks to everyone for their info and directions (or should it be orientations?) - including the invaluable advice from @Young Nudger.

I believe they are still improving the coating that will make them almost invisible to the naked eye. The ones we see are also, I believe, at a lower orbit than their final position, as they are still positioning.

    There's currently 360 launched out of a total 12,000.

I quite like the look of them in the sky, to be honest, but I can see why a lot don't. They will do a lot of good though, in terms of connectivity around the world, particularly in remote places.

I think they should be better seen today at 9:00pm - if it's clear.

I was out at that time, but stayed out slightly longer - though not by much. I saw four, all on the same trajectory, but I missed a couple while I was getting my bearings. I only know that cos I could hear some comments from nearby gardens "There's one!" and "Another one!" while I was twisting and turning.

The Americans have launched a rocket from Cape Canaveral and its vapour stream
is visible in the sky over Wakefield. Anyone spotted it in Barnsley.?
