    I read something similar - but it shouldn't be a shock to anyone that incorrect information was given out.

    There are UK manufacturers of this stuff that contacted the government and asked to supply but got no response so sent it all abroad whilst the government was busy trying to get a press release with the word Burberry in it done rather than go to people who actually make this stuff

    Even if we accept your point, that just means the government hadn’t secured the order that they publicly announced. :)

    the best you can get from that is that they didn’t lie but were incompetent;)
